RIP Joe McKnight. I had no idea. I remember Ole Miss was somehow one of Joes top schools. Orgeron and Frank Wilson almost got him.

Ole Miss, LSU, Alabama and USC.

That 2007 class had McKnight and Noel Devine and Alabama was trying to land both late with Saban being hired a month earlier.

The HS highlight tape for those two has to be top ten over the last 15 years.

The Dodge factory must've not had the Bama player assembly line set up yet. Couldn't get them made in time for signing day. Smh

No. 6 John Curtis won that game 28-14 against then No. 1 Hoover, which was the first time that Hoover had trailed in a game that season (fifth game of the year).

quote:

Against the No. 1 team in the country and the focus of popular MTV show Two-A-Days—Hoover High in Birmingham, Alabama—Joe had just eight touches from scrimmage but went for 204 yards. He was a magician. He'd take the ball and seemingly disappear at the line of scrimmage, then reappear yards downfield, gliding by defenders. When his team needed a play, it inserted him anywhere on the field. Late in the game with Hoover threatening, Joe, now on defense, jumped around a receiver to intercept a pass, sealing the win. He just took off his helmet and smiled.

At Hoover, Propst had a 110-16 record and won five state championships.

The state of Georgia Professional Practices Commission should be ashamed of itself giving Probst his GA teaching certificate back.

Do you even need one to be a HC? Not sure

Buck Belue,a former Valdosta player and radio talk show host, said this entire thing is about racial politics.

The school has become increasingly AA over
the years and supposedly the board wanted a AA coach after firing a white coach who won a state championship in '16.

He's now suing for wrongful termination and the black candidate backed out.Rush ended up being the last man standing and willing to take the job.

Sounds like a complete mess.
