I simply don't understand the "love affair" some Bama fans have with Milroe after seeing the inability of a running QB who isn't a serviceable passer with Jalen Hurts.

We watched how Buchner and Simpson played against South Florida.

You know what is worse than a running quarterback that isn’t a great passer? A non-running quarterback that isn’t a great passer. Those are Alabama’s two options this year.

Every running QB who wasn't serviceable passer that has had a long-term career at QB became a serviceable passer. Milroe has yet to get there and he may need to transfer to less high-profile school where he can be tutored on playing QB at a slower pace.

If Ty Simpson starts, you'll see Alabama at full strength.

I hear ya, man. That Saban fella don't know his arse from a hole in the ground when it comes to identifying and developing talent. Would be just like him to have his best players sloppin' spit buckets on the sideline.

He waited until we were down 13-0 in the 2nd half of the 2018 NC game to give Tua (who was obviously better than Hurts) his first meaningful snap of the year.

Let’s not act like the GOAT hasn’t made bad personnel decisions during his tenure.

You would think if he was that much better than Milroe , he would be the starter already

We have several people on the Bama board that believe that Saban is starting Milroe because he is black, and that Milroe doesn't throw the ball away because he is protecting his completion percentage, and that the oline purposely didn't block for Buchner and Simpson because they wanted Milroe at QB.

Even though Ty Simpson has been less than impressive any time he has gotten into the game, and was underwhelming in fall practice to the point he fell behind Tyler freakin Buchner, these people think that he is going to go into the game, and magically sling it all around the field all of a sudden.

We watched Buchner get way more of an opportunity than Simpson. Be honest. We haven't seen Simpson get an entire half to show what he can do. But, we do have 3 games of Milroe and he's a bad QB right now.

I don't believe that and I've been black for 43 years Rather, I think Milroe is the starter at this time b/c he's been at Bama for 2 years previously and is well liked by his teammates. But, those same teammates are going to get a lesson in life. Likes can't trump talent and fit. And, Milroe isn't a pro-style QB which is Bama's offensive system. To really fit Milroe, Bama would have to totally go against the strengths of all of their offensive personnel. It would be programmatic suicide.

Anybody objectively watching that game knew the entire line played like matadors on purpose. They were deliberately bad.

Buchner's a shite quarterback and everyone knows it but for reasons unknown to the rest of us, they wouldn't play for Simpson. Probably because he's pissy, arrogant and throws tantrums but skill wise, he's the best and if Milroe can't play, the offense will now play for him. Especially those receivers. They want Simpson behind the wheel for sure.

Alabama’s last four starting quarterback’s are now starting in the NFL. I think your definition of a bad quarterback needs to be recalibrated, because I think you are comparing Milroe to them. Milroe is a middle of the road college quarterback. Long time Alabama fans are used to those.

I hope it is not true. Much rather have Bama at full strength. If they beat us they beat us.

For all the kidding we give each other, this is mindset to have!

Except Ty Simpson was the 4th highest rated dual threat QB in his class.

If Milroe were middle of the road, Alabama would be favored by more than a touchdown.

This game will godsmack the Alabama fanbase with how bad Milroe actually is.

If by "a lot" you mean an accurate quarterback who can go through progressions, see open receivers and extend plays with his feet. Then yes, they'll have alot to look forward to.

Saban handed Simpson the keys to the car and he went 5-9 for 73 yards against mighty USF. I'd tap the brakes a bit.

How accurate is he throwing from his back btw? If it is Simpson the A&M DL is going to light him up. I mean if you think rolling out a Freshman QB who has barely played against that DL in that environment is a good idea then I'm in.

Like it or not but the last 4 starting QBs at Bama who are now NFL starters is the standard at Bama. And, in this time of the immediate transfer, Alabama should not have a project QB starting. The way Saban managed his roster particularly QB before the transfer portal needs to be adjusted. Saban by playing Milroe is retarding the development of the entire offense.

Clear you didn't watch that game. Simpson had pressure in his face immediately on every snap. Probably the worst OLine performance since the '21 Iron Bowl.

You talk like this was comparing Tim Tebow to Larry Culpepper.

Hurts had led them to the NC game the year before as a true freshman (losing on a last minute TD), and back to that NC here, and is now the starting QB on an undefeated NFL team.

It's pretty easy to say that was the right decision now, but backup QB is always the favorite player when a team stalls against good competition.

No one wants Simpson. The real true QB for Bama is Lonergan.

Jalen Hurts was a terrible QB during his time at Bama. And, in the NFL he's a good system QB who is surrounded by heap of talent on both sides of the ball. Tua, on the other hand, despite injuries is regarded as one of the best QBs in the NFL.

The defense led those Bama teams.
