Milroe did not play against South Alabama. Both T Buchner and Ty Simpson played extensively with each one playing approximately half the game. Simpson looked better than Buchner but the end result was 17-3 against South Alabama.
Neither of these backups looked anywhere close to being ready.

It was South Florida, which is a smidge better than South Alabama….but your point still stands.

No he's not.
If you're a quarterback and you're not good at it then you have to be good at other aspects of the game and Milroe really isn't.
He has poor instincts behind the line of scrimmage and he doesn't evade or sense pressure very well.
He's one thing. Fast.

Your feelings are going to be hurt by this. But in the first four games of the season, before SEC play started, Ty Simpson took 25% of the snaps. That is “extensive”.
Milroe took 55%, Simpson took 25%, Buchner took 20%. Simpson played more snaps in the South Florida game than Buchner did. But I know, stats are stupid. You need to judge with the eye and emotion.
