legion field isnt nearly as bad as some make it out to be. it's not an SEC field so it hasnt been kept like an SEC field. But it's fine for a football game. Hell, look at Auburn's crap stadium and the neighborhood it's in.

It's old. Other than that, it's not bad at all. It's pretty safe during the day, too. It's a viable option if they can't find a closer one.

Does Chattanooga have an available muni stadium?

If Athens is outside of any projected flooding, etc., that's probably the best bet, but that's REALLY unfair to SC.

Jackson State is off this weekend, so bring it to the Vet and the city with soul. SEC offices will be moving to Jackson soon enough anyway once our coup with Stricklin is complete. Let's go ahead and get the party started.

Old stadium but certainly serviceable. Some folks just here the name legion field and immediately get angry for some reason.

If any SC fans are "invited" to Birmingham, they'll likey burn down the SEC front offices for the crappy 2016 schedule with 3 SEC road games to start the season...

If both teams were ranked and had better records, this game would without a doubt be played in Columbia.

Upper deck was removed years ago.

Upper deck never was safe and never should have been opened. In fact the original opening scheduled for the ut game in '61 was aborted because the deck failed inspection the week of the game.

I attended a HS game there the Friday night before, and welders worked during the game and would work throughout the night in an attempt to reinforce it enough to pass inspection. All to no avail, and I still can't believe the fire marshal allowed the 9K people to sit in the aisles and wherever they could find space in the lower level for the ut game. We were crammed in like sardines!

Might have been where the lap dance originated. Turned out to be the World's largest lap dance. Lot of hotties sitting in guys laps.

Brings back memories: paying $10.00 to park in some front yard and $10.00 for "protection."

Neutral Legion Field. How I miss those wonderful times.

The SEC offfices aren't moving back to Jackson. The REC removed them for a reason. Deal with it.

We went to the Birmingham Bowl last year.No way an SEC team would schedule a game like this with months to prepare. However for a spur of the moment change this would be fine. Of course they would play it in the day.

Here's hopin'. This would be fun.

Let's make it a double header with UGA/SC and LSU/UF. Hopefully the stadium won't run out of popcorn and coke.

Idk, it's tough to say "I know we just cancelled 3 days of classes and shut down campus, but we are still having a football game the day the Hurricane is supposed to be having the biggest impact on the state."
