I love that this topic has come up every season since Saban got to Bama, but you fans of other schools are just gonna have to deal with Saban until he retires.
I'm an LSU fan. Seen our record against him? He's a great coach, don't get me wrong, but I don't dread playing Bama the way I did Florida with Spurrier back in the day.

As an aside, my uncle used to be a Chem professor at Michigan St when he was up there. When he came to LSU, he said the faculty didn't mind seeing him go, as he was kind of an elitist snob and not involved in the university at all. Said he would ditch us too, when he got the right offer.

I took it as sour grapes at the time, but I do remember something else- I worked with a doctor who was Saban's neighbor in the CC in BR. That doc was an avid LSU fan, but he didn't have much nice to say about lil Nick either... and that was well before he left. Basically an arrogant dick who would look at you and walk away, if you were both out in the yard and you waved at him.

My own best guess is sentimentality and loyalty will have nothing to do with Saban's staying or leaving. If he gets the right terms on a deal he wants, he'll kiss your asses goodby before you know it.

I'm not saying he hasn't, I'm just wondering how on Earth you came to this conclusion. He earned America's respect because he's good at football? That makes no sense to me.

Of course you don't. LSU sucked when Spurrier was at Florida so it wasn't just his coaching you had to worry about. You're facing Saban each year with incredible talent and a decent coaching staff. Apples and oranges.

Have seriously been hearing this exact phrase since January 2007.

Gonna have to agree with TT on this one. Seriously doubt most of America even knows who Jesse Williams is. Google image search him and you get a picture of this guy first.

Saban is making their fans quit. If we beat the kitties in Red Stick they will tar and feather Miles.

All of CFB has quit. I already expect the main excuse at the end of this year for why Alabama wins the BCSNCG is because all of CFB is down.

My brother moved to New Orleans and his LSU co-workers ( who he manages btw) as well as LSU clients throughout 2007 and 2008 would tell him that Saban hated it in Tuscaloosa and was trying to get back to LSU. When that didn't happen they would make comments about how he would leave the first chance he got. They did it in a subtle way but acted as if it was impossible that a coach that we leave LSU for another job would definitely leave lowly Alabama just as quickly as well. My brother is the type of Alabama grad/fan that won't do something as innocent as putting an Alabama alumni license plate on his car or fly an Alabama flag in his yard or let my two little nephews go to pre school with anything Alabama related on. He says representing his school in New Orleans is bad for business which is pretty sad when you think about it. In other words, he doesn't talk s### even jokingly with his LSU co-workers yet they don't hesitate to make smartass comments about Saban to him. Saban was always about to leave yet nearly 6 years later he's still here.

This is just like when Coach Bryant was at Alabama. Why would Saban leave, he controls college football.

Not that Alabama couldn't easily match that.

Easily? doubt it. could they? who knows.

10MM would make him the highest paid coach in football, college or NFL. IF he carries that kind of value, his agent would have to be the absolute worst in the business to have not already exploited it. apparently, he is just giving his talents away at more than half their value.

Nick knows he can't succeed in the pros. It's not the X's and O's, he just doesn't like how he can't fire coordinators and build a team with his own talent.

I actually have been surprised at how many good stories I hear about him in Tuscaloosa.

And what's sad about this is you truly have no ties to this unless you played football at Bama. My heritage is my heritage and it's damn proud. And if feeling like America and American's come first over all else, then yes I am an elitist you liberal POS.

What in the Holy Hell are you melting down over? Jesse Williams plays football for Alabama. I don't care if he's from Mars.

What is his name and his business? I'll give him the business if he wants.
