I did too. And I looked on rivals and scouts Auburn boards, and there isn't really a whole lot said on those, I didn't go back much, but I would think they would be lit up also. About the most outlandish post was that the REC had instructed the media to keep things hushed, and it didn't even have alot of posts to it.

Since I first started posting on the internet 4 or 5 years ago, gumps have spread rumors about Auburn paying Carnell Williams, Tray Blackmon, Micheal Goggans, Michael McNeil and Jerrell Harris.
Gumps have also spread rumors about John Henderson cheating on his ACT test to get into school at Tennessee, Mississippi State paying a basketball player named Mario Austin and one other basketball player (I forget his name), and Ole Miss paying Bobbie Massie. They have even spent the last two or three years spreading rumors about Tray Blackmon stealing a car
Here is a rumor about Auburn paying Jerrell Harris that is currently on the front page of the gumps rival board
Gumps actually were claiming a couple of years ago that Jerrell Harris' mother had a tape recording of an Auburn booster offering her money. They have never been able to back up those rumors or any of the other many, many rumors they have spread about other schools

I'm hearing things from an attorney (and AU booster) friend of mine.....
had lunch with him today, and the discussion about the Gadsden issues came up. He said he has a pretty intricate knowledge of the goings on in Gadsden, as he has a lot of clients out there and grew up there.
He said in his opinion if anyone broke any rules during Jerrell Harris' recruitment, it was the Auburn coaches. He didn't go into a lot of specifics or name names (and I didn't push the issue), but he said that he thought one of the main reasons Jerrell didn't end up going to Auburn is because the Auburn coaches, during their in-home visit, may have made a lot of insinuations and suggestions about "what it would take to be sure Jerrell comes to Auburn."

ughhhh, I can't believe this shite. confirmed by several people in t-town with connections to the athletic dept.
If our God damn boosters drive Saban out of town (and after this bullshite who could blame him) I'm gonna seriously switch allegiances to UGA, that way I can still hate AU, UT and Fl and remain indifferent toward LSU and ole miss.
Julio and Mark are friends with two Auburn girls, whose father happens to be an Auburn booster, and owner of Eagle Supply on the Gulf Coast. There are plenty of pictures out there to confirm that. This has nothing to do with Alabama, Auburn, or anyone else for that matter cheating, or setting Alabnama up. This has to do with the players' amateur status. Once they recieve extra benifits, no matter who its from, they are automatically in the wrong. The only way Alabama is endangered is if they play those players, but the AD is well aware of the situation, and the proper measures are being taken. So, rushing to conclusions, and proclaiming, that 'Bama boosters are "running Saban out of town" is just plain stupid, but go ahead and root for Georgia if you want.

You do understand that no one is saying Auburn cheated....right?

That sounds alot more credible. If that's the case, just find out from the NCAA how long to sit them and do it, end of story. Outside of reiterating to the team what they can and cannot do.

DAMNIT!!
This better be bullshite. These two guys would have come to Bama regardless. They both were going to be fun to watch this year, they better not get ruled ineligible.

Bama is also endangered to return to mediocre status in the SEC IF they don't play them.
All too funny....RTR

I'm on tidesports right now and there is nothing in the general forums board about any of this.

This is sort of like the Brandon Gibson situation. He sat two games because his friendship with the son of an Alabama booster didn't go back before the ninth grade. That's the rules though.

If it was known at the time, could cost more.

I thought Tidesports usually would whack stuff that didn't have a link attached to it or something more credbible than "Rumor Confirmed" at the top saying a friend of a friend said this....
I wouldn't be suprised to NOT see it being on there. So far, all we hear is "so and so told me..."

there would still be more than one post on Auburn's board I'd think.

What's the big deal? I've heard rumors that big time Ole Miss Boosters have been anteing up to pay for Rebel Players’ meals at the local Dairy Queen.
