Hey...where there's smoke there's fire. Hopefully everyone in the SEC just keeps pushing for bama to get in trouble and it eventually happens. I just like how every other team in the SEC wants to see bama on probation. Bunch of cheatin bastards.

The same wise man who once said those words also once said:

Hope everybody sees my point here. Bama = zero accountability. NONE. Blame everyone else. Never look in the mirror. Blame UT. Blame AU. Blame anybody as long as it does not mean accepting accountability and fixing it.

Works for me. It is the attitude the NCAA just loves and it keeps them quite interested in Bama since Bama feels it never does anything wrong even when they get caught. No accountability. No responsibility.

He sold his Escalade. It was a couple of years old anyway, he'll be getting a 2010 in the fall.

Here's the low down on the Fishing Trip.

1. Julio and Mark Ingram went on a fishing trip with a Auburn booster, there is apparently no doubt it was an auburn booster, there are pics on a pay site that confirms this.

2. From reports the AD did not approve the trip or have in beforehand knowledge of the trip.

3. The money for the trip has been reimbursed.

4. It doesn't matter whether it was a Auburn Booster or whomever, the NCAA will view it as an amateur athlete excepting a benefit which converts them to be considered pro. Which makes you ineligible until the NCAA allows you to play again.

5. If your school plays you while you are ineligible as a pro, then, and only then, is the school punished (example Langham).

6. Usually, the NCAA does demand reimbursement and a one game suspension. The internal punishment will be for breach of team rules for not running it by the AD.

7. The money has been reimbursed from reports I have read, so that leaves probably a one game suspension. I'm not sure if Bama can choose the game or not. But I expect to see Ingram and Julio out of a game this year.

8. The good news is the school won't be punished.

Once you accept payment you lose your amateur status and are considered a pro athlete. How you lose that designation of a pro athlete I have no idea, once you have accepted payment and are marked with that designation. Mark and Julio down by the schoolyard college careers could be done. When Langham signed with the agent he was a senior, he had no eligibility left anyway.

Go here LINK and read this thread, and pay attention the posts by Tide-HSV, he's the only one that really knows whats going on. He's a mod. Tidefans mods never let rumors stay on the board, much less the mods never post them, ever!

These kids weren't paid, they got to go on a fishing trip. Usually, the NCAA does demand reimbursement in a case like this and a one game suspension. The internal punishment will be for breach of team rules for not running it by the AD.

The NCAA are Nazis but I don't think they are going to tell a kid he can never play football again because he made a mistake and went on a fishing trip.

btw, i can't believe no one has mentioned one MAJOR element.

Do we think that the particular Auburn booster that gave them money wants Alabama to win football games? Do we think he's enamored with ALABAMA football players? Do we think he was trying to ENTICE them to stay at Alabama? Do we think that he's trying to further their cause?

i'm ALL for accountability. I have said all along we get what we get for the book thing yada yada... aka, if someone knew it was going on and did nothing, then we deserve a punishment to some degree...

but the fact is, the reason this thread or accusation has gotten any steam at all is a perfect example of how badly people are afraid Bama is back.

Guess what guys. no matter what happens... no matter how many hypocritical people flame us and try to fan the flames trying to perpetuate the penalties we receive... we will make it through it and again be made tougher and better fans.

Roll Tide.

*edit* obviously this is not directed at the opposing fans that i've built respect for on here :)
