He's the one who bumped the Ingram thread.

You are arguing Rueban Randle is better than Julio Jones

There is no argument

You are a troll if you believe that

I wouldn't be overly surprised if he went in the first round but I expect him to be early second.

The problem with Randle is that it's hard to tell how good he is. LSU's offense and QB play severely hampered how good their receivers could be. Julio Jones, Stephen Hill, and Demaryius Thomas were also hurt by their offense but they were all 6-3, 6-4 receivers with sub 4.4 speed. Randle just doesn't have that kind of speed where teams are willing to draft him high in the draft just because of his physical tools.

This. I've had on going Rueben Randle debate for a couple years now with a buddy of mine who thinks he's average at best and cites his lack of production in the numbers. LSU's quarterback play killed the ability to really test what Randle could ultimately do IMO. I think he's a guy with a lot of potential but it is true that he doesn't have the eye popping speed or physical attributes that make you real comfortable taking him without seeing that production in college.

I think he's a guy with a lot of potential. Maybe a reach in the first round but not one that can't be justified IMO.

Not because Randle doesn't have tremendous potential but because Julio Jones was much more productive at Alabama than Randle was at LSU.

I'm not saying Randle is better than Julio.

But looking at the career stats.

Randle: 97 catches, 1634 yards, 16.8 average ypc, 13 TDs.

Jones: 179 catches, 2653, 14.8 average ypc, 15 TDs.

Randle also played behind Lafell, Toliver, and other upper classman.

I'd say Randle had a pretty good collegiate career considering all the circumstances.

That also has nothing to do with how he will do in the NFL.

Randle has excellent hands. Julio has the hands of a 75 year-old arthritic iron worker.

yeah thats why a team traded almost their whole draft to get Julio and Randle will be lucky to go in the first.

An extremely sound argument. Who in the hell would trade an entire draft of picks for one player?

Randle deserves a lot of credit. It's not easy picking up yards when Jefferson comes in.

If RR had Luck, Weeden, or Griffn as his QB we would all be talking about him as the #1 WR in the draft.

Remember he had the worst QB in the history of elite ncaa football.

much better QB play and less competition at WR for the ball will do that. But Julio is def a more talented cat than RR in either case.

it was a terrible draft decision and is a part of the reason why the Falcons will continue to be outside of the Super Bowl picture.

Even if he had one of those QB's likely would still be about where he is, maybe moved up in the late 1st, but it is the deepest WR draft in the last 25 yrs

He will be phenomenal, again ppl don't realize how extremely handcuffed he was with terrible QB play, unimaginative offensive routes etc. He's gonna be a steal, some GM's FO's are locked in to that, but he likely goes around late 2nd

To consider how deep, when you have a Victor Cruz clone (T.Y. Hilton) is like the 16th best WR, this WR class is DEEEEEP DEEP, too bad the Bucs don't need a WR ah well

As much of a Julio homer as I am, the Falcons are retarded for giving up that much for any non-QB. (And it would have to be an elite QB at that to justify that expenditure)

But as a Dolphin fan, I would take RR in a second. But #8 is way too high for him. I think RR is going to be a solid NFL receiver.

he's a first round talent for sure.he just never had a qb here

what i dont understand is why he didnt wait to see what a new quarrterback might be able to do for him. Was there something else behind the scenes that motivated his decision?

(He was a junior, right?)
