Another unintended side effect of black folks not knowing how to spell names normally...or to name their kids something normal, for that matter.

Google shows a few times it was misspelled, but seems clear RF got it wrong.

Anyway, people have let this thread really get to them for some reason. Not sure why. Everyone was talking in unison about his lack of smarts since his interview last night.

okay, I apologize, I found a few initially, but it was actually quoting Foster from a tweet that he had about Phillips after he decommited from AU in December.

Still, whose to say this isnt an inside cousin thing, as in maybe Foster spelled his cousin's name like that from the get-go, and it just stuck for him. I'm sure that its not that uncommon of an occurrence.

As I have already stated: its just kind of tacky to make fun of someone honoring their family member's recent death.

It might be, but doesn't it seem a little disingenuous given the circumstances of the original tattoo and now the modification. The misspelling kind of highlights that, right?

he has stated all along, or AT LEAST since early December, that it was in honor of his cousin. So no, it does not seem disingenuous.

Justify it any way you like. Its not like its a really serious thing that deserves repudiation...like dead trees.

It's kind of tacky to hide behind this excuse to justify an obvious frick up. JMO.

He only stated that after the decommitment. He got the tattoo the day after he flipped to AU. His cousin was no longer on the AU football team and was reportedly going to transfer. Why not get his cousins name on there initially? Come on, man.

I googled "Ladarius Phillips" and the next thing I know the google is asking me if I meant "Ladarious Phillips" and I was like, not sure.

I'm not hiding behind anything, but I also not trying to jump to conclusions about someone honoring their family member's death.

His cousin was no longer on the team before he was murdered. Why wait until you flip to AU to get an AU tattoo to honor your cousin? Why change your cousin honoring AU tattoo the day after you flip back to Bama?

It doesn't really matter, I'm sure it was an inside joke between cousins where he left the o out of his first name.

Defending it as an inside joke is not jumping to conclusions. Right, dude.

Not really sure why this is even relevant?

Maybe that is why he flipped to AU in the first place, to honor his cousin, it just took him a month to reflect on his cousin's death and make that decision.

Because he fricking wanted to? Again, why does it even matter?

It doesn't really matter

thank you.

For all we know, it could have been.
