You won't get objectivity and honesty from most here b/c most just repeat what the media says and most don't watch any football outside of their favorite team.

I've said repeatedly the SEC has the best players but as a conference has the worst coaching. There's much better coaching in the other Power 5 conferences.

I would take a team full of mean nasty workaholic 3/4 stars with chips on their shoulders over 50 entitled lazy 5 stars any day and twice on Sunday
the Big 12 is the conference for you. Every Saturday you have 22 guys trying to make the opposing coach regret not offering.

The star system is real but it can be political too. Some players get higher rankings b/c of which camps they go to and where they go to play college football. But, the star rankings are mostly accurate.

I just want to know how Saban continues to stockpile in the age of portal/NIL? Doesn't seem sustainable.

Well the truth is, you’re correct it is NOT sustainable. It’s very, very early in the NIL era so it is easy to say that the recruiting powerhouses are still recruiting at elite levels. Earlier, a stat was posted that Bama has 18 5 stars. Let’s say the NIL market for a 5 star is $1M. Boosters coming up with $18 mil for those kids? Maybe.

Anybody have Econ 1 in college? Too much money chasing too few goods? Maybe NIL deals go to 2,3, 4 mil. Someone will have to cry uncle and the traditional recruiting powerhouses will suffer. To think otherwise is to deny capitalism (and look how that worked out for the socialists)??

This is your mindset because you root for Miss St.

It’s like someone whose favorite food is haggis (because that’s all they’ve ever eaten) disparaging filet mignon.

I didn't know Bama had anything less than a 4-star on their team.

Probably kickers, deep snappers and such mostly.

They’ve got more 5 stars this year than we’ve had since joining the conference.

I wonder why we can’t beat them…..

Landing a player the caliber of Jadon Haselwood, a former top-5 prospect, out of the transfer portal would be a big deal for any school, but especially so at Arkansas.

Not known as a recruiting juggernaut, the Razorbacks have signed only a handful of five-star recruits or transfers during the modern era of recruiting services.

In fact, since Rivals started rating players in 2002, only four other 5-star recruits have worn an Arkansas uniform.

Any questions?
