In an unrelated note, I still believe that LSU-Alabama will be protected at the behest of ESPN. It's been the most watched game, and they'll want it to continue every year.

I believe this will happen as well, and it will throw off a couple games that make more sense.

Why wouldn't AU folks be satisfied getting to play UF every other year?

At least it's a semi-return to the old rivalry without forcing y'all into another stint of the toughest SEC schedule imaginable.

Thank you RT1941.

I would be thrilled with Fla every other year.

But with bama and georgia as permanent (no one has two harder ones) - Auburn should get the easiest 3rd opponent.

Vandy. That way we can finally take the series lead!

Those predictions are absolutely atrocious. Georgia, Mississippi State, and Arkansas for Kentucky? Lol in what world do any of these make sense

Felt like he thought he was choosing them for basketball with those Arkansas picks.

Texas, Mizzou, Kentucky.

I’d actually love that for basketball but not so much football.

That SOS is murder for Auburn to play Bama, UGA, and Florida.

It is what it is. Auburn has played the other "Big 6" members a lot more than the team who has played the second most games.

Near pure geography works out better than I anticipated:
East - Florida, Georgia, SC, Tennessee
North - UK, Vandy, Arkansas, Mizzou
South - Alabamas & Mississippi’s
West - OU, A&M, UT, LSU

Also somewhat related, who will be LSU's opponent on rivalry week?

Seems like everyone is paired up already if we assume the Longhorns and the Aggies are permanent opponents.

That looks to set OU up with 3 easier permanent rivals compared to other schools. At least from the get go. Texas is playing bad the past several years, Mizzou is down, etc.

There are actually three possible scenarios: Oklahoma, Arkansas, or remotely possible Tulane. It depends on the future of Bedlam and a restart of Kansas-Mizzou.

Historically, Mizzou played Kansas the Thanksgiving weekend and it is one of the most-played rivalries of all time. And, of course, Oklahoma played Okie State. However, there's a lot of chatter that Bedlam may end up getting canceled for a while with the Sooners coming to the SEC.

If Mizzou were to rekindle their rivalry with Kansas, that would free up Arkansas to play LSU on Thanksgiving weekend. It would also allow for Bedlam to continue.

However, if Mizzou-Kansas is permanently gone (a high probability), then Mizzou-Arkansas will remain that weekend, forcing the SEC to choose whether they want Oklahoma to continue playing Bedlam, at the cost of leaving LSU to have to beg to play Tulane, or making Oklahoma LSU's third rival and making that a Thanksgiving game.

As I work out the reasoning, you start to figure out that LSU will end up with Oklahoma.

LSU is gonna be as much big 12 as sec.

Dumb comment, LSU has never been or will be Big 12 , maybe Bama can play over there every year and be A Big 12 team .. get outta here with that talk … I think you just don’t want to play LSU every year… Don’t complain about playing your arch rival Auburn and “the I can get rid of Tennessee game” … but don’t send LSU our way every year .. I bet you’ll take Vandy !!
