I know plenty of LSU fans that acknowledge us as rivals, my cousing being one.

Except UL-L is not allowed to use UL. The university must be denoted by UL-L, or UL-Lafayette, or University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The sports teams only have the authority to use "Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns", but not the abbreviation UL.

From what I can tell it seems to easily be the best way to troll ULL fans.
I never knew it was a big deal until this week. I just always knew them as ULL, and assumed that's what everyone called them.
