RIP to Phil Garner, who passed away over the weekend (pancreatic cancer).

- World Series Champion ('79 Pirates)
* Batted .417 in 79 NLCS and .500 in '79 World Series
- MLB Player for 16 seasons with 5 clubs
- MLB Manager for 15 seasons with 3 clubs
- 1978 - Hit Grand Slams in consecutive games
- 2,040 hits in first 10 seasons (more than any other player in the 20th century)

Cancer sucks. Pancreatic is one of the worst. By the time it’s diagnosed, it’s usually already stage three. RIP, Scrap Iron and I sincerely hope you passed peacefully.

Scrap Iron is and always will be my favorite Astros manager.
