Heart attack. Just wanted to honor him. “Tolbert was from Brandon and graduated from Northwest Ranking. He signed a baseball scholarship with Auburn. He pitched for the Tigers on the 1994 team that made the College World Series, and then transferred to UAB and finally Ole Miss.

Tolbert led Ole Miss in wins and earned run average in 1997 and 1998. “-Clarion Ledger

Massive heart attack while playing fetch with his dogs on the front porch. Terrible news

Yeah, I was surprised when I turned on SuperTalk yesterday morning and they were talking about him dying. What a shock. He was a great guy.

He pitched at Auburn also but was an Ole Miss guy.

Burnside, I remember watching him. We lived off of a road directly behind Northwest Rankin HS. My kids went there from elementary to high school. We were there from 87 to 96 where I was in a huge minority wearing my purple and gold.

I really enjoyed my time there but had to come home when I could.

Take care, Chili Mac

He was head and shoulders above most everybody else our age athletically growing up. Glad I got to see him at our 30th a few years ago. Never would have guessed it would be the last time. Rest in peace Lance.
