Reminder: Dan Mullen’s Most Impressive Victory in 12 Years as a Head Coach

Is over a 7-2 UGA squad that has beaten no one this season and would get bent over by every team in the Top 10.
I cannot comprehend how so many Florida fans are defending this guy after going 8-3 with one of the best offenses in SEC history. Because he played Bama close and still lost? Because his brilliant late in-game decision making to burn a timeout for a useless two point conversion? His record vs ranked teams in late November/December? (0-14 after Saturday btw).
Mullen will never bring a championship to Florida. And anyone who can’t comprehend this is delusional.

Trade you Steele for Mullen.

I would point out that our 4 best defenders were out and our walk-on qb suffered a separated shoulder.
Jt at qb and Davis, JR, RL3, and Sine in the game, you lose in a blowout.

I gotta admit, I've always considered Mullen to be a great head coach, but some of his game management the last 2 weeks have me second guessing myself. The timeout you mention, being maybe the biggest blunder. I just don't see how you can waste that timeout because you are unprepared.

I mean, we barely lost to one of the best teams in college football ever, who has dominated everyone they played this season.
I want to win pretty bad, too, but in all honesty he is probably the best we have right now, and we will not be able to replace him easily after winning the East, barely losing to Alabama and having a third NY6 bowl in a row with a potential third year with a top ten finish.
He's really frustrated me, but in all honesty, we start firing people for those results I doubt anyone would want to actually coach here.

You guys had the #1 team in the country talent wise, you were squarely beaten by the better team that day. If you recruit that well just to use injuries as an excuse you may need to adjust your recruiting.

I would point out that this is entirely speculation. Your linebackers were completely healthy and they couldn’t stop the wheel route. Your pass rushers were healthy and couldn’t get a steady rush the entire game. Every Top 10 offense UGA has played in the last 3 years has blown the lids off your defense.

Florida needs to hire Mark Richt.

Florida just isn't a good program
Nothing will change that

We beat 7th ranked baylor with our B squad last year.
We will get a chance to beat 8th ranked Cincinnati this year.
With JT Daniels and George Pickens on offense and Jordan Davis on defense, we are a completely different team than you faced.

It’s Florida, coaches will beat down the door to coach here. I understand what you are saying, you don’t want a trigger happy administration turning UF into Texas or Florida State but any coach with a brain would kill to coach here.
Be careful with patting Mullen on the back for playing Bama close. UGA fans were doing the same thing with Richt in 2012 and again with Kirby in 2017 and 2018. It’s a slippery slope accepting being good and not great. Florida could wake up 3 years from now and have a very Richt-like situation going on in consistently going 10-2 and losing big games every year.

What does this have to do with your 2020 team and season?

Again with this BS? Many key players missing hurts every team, even talented squads. Y’all got lucky. Just admit it.

Nah, we beat your face in. No luck about it. We even spotted you guys points and could still pack it in at halftime. Your starters played the wheel routes which we consistently abused you with, and we also lost Pitts in the first half and still managed to just run the clock out because our lead was so comfortable.
Georgia fans sure don't take losses well even though they get beat on a lot by top ten teams when they finish the year top ten.

Here’s the thing. Dan Mullen knows how to build a team. However, he’s horrible at coaching a game.
That would be fine except for the fact he’s too arrogant to realize he stinks at in-game coaching. This season is your peak. Bad time management lost you the game against what will likely be the eventual NC.
The frustrating thing about Dan is that all he would need to do is give an OC the reigns and the sky would be the limit.
After 12 years, it’s just not happening.
