Bama doesn't like to get defensive.
It is why they gave up 34 to Texas.

You're better vs BallSt, Vandy, Barn, UTM. Sure. That's an accurate pool from which to judge. shite never changes. You're right. Your bullshite analysis has stunk up the entire thread. Per usual.

Giving up 20 to Vandy is like giving up 200 to tejas.

Normally, I would agree.
But in 8 games, they've scored less than 20 once.

Texas, in 7 games, has scored less than 34 three times.

I think UGA fans think that he was a good player, but he wasn't someone who they were torn up over leaving. And why would they?

This is what I have seen, too. That said, he was my favorite receiver at the time, and i hated to see him go. I thought he would flourish at Alabama, and he has done well....but maybe still not a swell as he is capable. Milroe (in my opinion) is the reason for this.

They have plenty of pass catching playmakers. He would have probably helped this season with all the injuries I suppose.
We are 2nd in the SEC in passing and only 3.0 yards per game behind LSU, so we are fine without him. We might have been better if McConkey had not been out the first 4 games or Bowers had not gotten hurt, but we seem to be ok.

I do think you are correct with your assessment, though.

True, but why didn't he hit all the other people that were on the field instead of picking out a girl?

Interesting. I guess Alabama is going to win the championship going away since they are so much more talented than everybody else.

I mean BOB and Golding are gone. Who gets the blame this year?

Jermaine Burton is a #2/#3 WR.

The fact he's Bama's #1 doesn't say good things about him, rather it says bad things about Bama's WR corps.

He's a WR who gets about 60 yards a game with two outliers (197 vs A&M, 7 vs USF). He's mediocre, but he's the best Bama has right now.

This seems a bit revisionist.

SEC championship games don't count? Interesting.

It didn't count for UGA in 2021. That's pretty obvious. We lost the game and still won the national championship, so the game didn't matter at all for UGA. Bama needed to win it to get in the playoff. UGA was already in before the game started.

Per the SEC receiving stats he is the best long ball threat in the SEC right now out of the top 10 in receiving yard WRs

Not saying anything bad about Burton....I did find it interesting that his avg. per pass is very high. (Incredibly high). His longest pass reception is 54 yards. There are 10 receivers with longer receptions. It tells me that he is very consistently catching passes in the 20-30 yard range. (or maybe has been very good at yards after catch?) Not sure why that statistic stuck out to me and it is not meant as a knock against him.

Again, he's a 60 yards a game WR as Bama's #1 target. He's incredibly consistent in being a #2 type guy, except for his two outliers

197 vs A&M
62 vs Ole Miss
62 vs Tenn
62 vs MTSU
60 vs ARK
58 vs Texas
7 vs USF

Jerry Jeudy or Jameis Williams he is not. He's just the best WR on a team that is lacking at the position. He'd be a #2 or #3 on many other SEC teams.

Conveniently left out Kentucky because it foiled your argument...

One of the few things that the Bammer QB is really good at is throwing the deep ball

Jermaine Burton left UGA because he wanted more targets. Looks like he’s getting about 1 more reception per game at Bama over the last two years than he did at UGA his first two. Congrats to him, if that is what he was looking for. He was a good WR for us and looks about the same for y’all.

Burton is a solid #2 or #3 SEC level WR. If he's your #1, you are lacking at that position.

He'd be #3 at WR this year for UGA (behind McConkey when healthy and Lovitt). #4 if you include Bowers in the mix. That still has value, but if you're giving him #1 targets then you're weak at the WR spot.
