Hmmm, do I listen to BHMKyle or the AP? Cant decide, let me sleep on it.
The AP is regular season only. You do know that, right? They've always done their final poll before the tournament.

Who thought that? It wasn’t us. We knew Frank was an idiot. The second he was hired from Miami we knew we were toast.
Then we hired a freaking D2 coach. You may have presumed we’d be good but we are still recovering from two full foolish hires and losing 2 lottery players.

Samuel Clemens routinely denounced his Missouri lineage.

In their defense, they have 26 NCAA Tournament appearances... behind only Kentucky and Arkansas in the SEC. They also have four Elite Eight appearances which is pretty strong.
They're one of the best programs ever in CBB to not have a Final Four appearance. They remind me of the Blues in that regard. Even though they're an in-state rival, I would love to see them break through someday.

In my humble opinion, Mizzou basketball's downfall began with the construction of Mizzou (Paige Sports) Arena in 2004. Mizzou's administration made a decision then to jettison its fanbase in lieu of appeasing donors for a few extra theoretical dollars per year. Specifically, Mizzou Arena's design included significant lower level seating and box seating designated for donors only. Even the student section got shoved behind one of the baselines- this is why our arena typically looks empty on tv. And sure, Mizzou Arena was a significant upgrade over our old arena in terms of aesthetics and accommodations - but I hate it. It is a soulless pit of financial compromise, it represents everything that is wrong with college sports today. It was built by a billionaire for other billionaires, the fans be damned.
No surprise that a Kroenke connected group was involved in that.

Funny, throughout this discussion, you’ve given Cuonzo a pass. Why? He sucks arse; has everywhere he’s been. Nobody can do less with more than Cuonzo. How long before you get tired of his recruiting great talent and doing nothing with it?

No. I recall having to add them to break our 20 year contract with ESPN because Mike Slive was incompetent moron.

Since your response was directed at me, I haven't given Cuonzo a pass, I've only posted once in this thread. I don't give Cuonzo a pass, matter of fact, I thought it was a questionable hire in the first place. But when you're as down as Mizzou basketball was when he was hired, you simply hope for the best, the basketball program had hit an all time low.
Whether Cuonzo is the long term solution remains to be seen. He will certainly stabilize the program after what Haith and Kim Anderson put it through.

To true, the first step to stabilizing a program in a hole is to stop digging. Cuonzo may, or may not, be successful at Missouri but if nothing else he should leave some talent behind for the next coach.
Missouri and Arkansas are text book examples of the price you pay for not getting the right coach. Both schools love basketball and have a rich tradition in it. Both states produce a surplus of basketball talent. And both are stuck playing mediocre at best basketball right now.
