Remember the Vandy player saying, "Alabama, you're next?" Turns out Saban did.

Damien Harris' anecdote about that game on a recent sports podcast:
I really hope these behind-the-scenes Saban stories continue to trickle out. Love hearing this stuff.

Vanderbilt is 3-0 heading into next week's home game against Alabama and coming off the school's first win over a ranked non-SEC opponent since 1946.
Happy and feeling confident, one of the Commodores' defensive lineman had a strong message for the Crimson Tide after Vanderbilt's 14-7 home win over No. 18 Kansas State Saturday night.

Tennessee has had only middling success beating the Commodores the last decade. As a matter of fact, in the aforementioned season of 2017, Vandy made UTk it's bitch to the tune of 42-24.

I remember that. There was also some sports commentator or writer or something who picked Vandy for the upset.

Dan Wolken thought Alabama would score about 40 points fewer than they did (they were covering by the end of the first quarter).

To go back and look, some of the numbers were brutal, even for Vandy.
Alabama outgained Vanderbilt 677-78, and had 496 rushing yards.
Damien Harris had 151 yards on 12 carries (12.6 ypc).
quote:
Alabama's Da'Ron Payne said it was "a bad mistake by Vanderbilt to do all that talking" before the game.

The "I like dogs" hat is a nice shoutout to Isaiah Buggs.

Well, we can guarantee every game from here on out Sabat will be saying nothing as well!

I’m legitimately worried about Bama fans with DeBoer as coach. I don’t think you’ll know how to deal with the mediocrity. Dude is a west coast quack in way over his head.

This is it. You're already seeing it.
I'm just going to be shite-talking Vanderbilt from here on out.
