So just to clarify, your son turned down a $100k/year offer to play at an SEC school to attend a school he isn’t sure will pay him anything. And this is somehow a better deal for him.

That is the way your posts read.

bigD, love you man, happy for the kid making his decision.

the issue is the Dad coming in here attacking Arkansas fans while the DAD is the actual one breaking the news of the flip. He just decided to shite on us for no reason, after he's been treated great.

also sir, please do not delete this thread. There's too much awesome stuff in it from a known pathological liar, and thus this thread needs to be enshrined into a hall of fame status

Yeah I am a big Arkansas fan, so no hard feelings. Also you never know, he may still end up at Arkansas anyway. He hasn't signed, and even if he has, there is nothing preventing him from transferring down the road.

I tend to look at players being temps now. The guy you root for today could be playing for a rival tomorrow. Sad but true.

Congrats to your son on the record breaking kick. I remember you saying early on that he really wanted Florida, glad he is getting the opportunity. Your fellow coast trash is proud

He clarified, he said the scholarship was worth $30k/ year and they were offering $3 k a month for expenses and about $3k a month profit sharing, as a minimum.

So basically most schools are offering anyone that signs a scholarship plus $5-7k as a minimum.

Oct 8, a Tuesday, same thing
well I went back to this day, since Tuesdays are normally our late practices and I don’t have other things to do on Tuesday like I do Thursday And.. your wrong what do you know! My last post was 2:48 pm next post after 6. Huh wonder why that was? On Thursdays I’m normally on the road early for jr high or inside monitoring jr high boys. The latest I stay out on the field on Thursday is about 3:30. We had 2 Thursday high school games l, both at home where I might bullshite on my phone here and there until 5:30/6 depending on when we go out for pre game. What do you think coaches do when players are getting ready for the game? After pre game meal there’s a bunch of dead time. We aren’t game planning still an hour and a half before kickoff. As I said you’re a fricking paranoid schizophrenic. Seek help.

If you add that up; $30,000+$36,000+$36,000; it is worth $102,000. So lets just call it $100k. OP also said they had not discussed financials at all with Florida. So right now they have $0 offered.

Why would you burn a bridge worth $102,000 a year with nothing else at all in hand but hope?

And no offense, we are not talking about a 5 star quarterback. We are talking about a 3 star. And a kicker to boot (see what I did there?). I find it hard to believe that there have ever been many kickers in the history of college football who tried to play hardball in recruiting who didn’t get burned.

The kid got the green light at the school he wanted to go to from the beginning. No one here knows what the best path forward will be for him, and he can always transfer if it doesn't work out at UF. Weird board.

According to on3 he has three scholarship offers currently; Arkansas, Florida and Ole Miss. Or had three offers. He is highly regarded as a kicker. But he is the 2,163rd ranked player in the country. And this thread reads like he is trying to play hardball.

You are right, this board is weird.

Yes. He’s ready to work hard.

All SEC scholarship players get NIL, he’ll get the lowest tier…whatever that is.

you posted this on page five or previous...you're arguing you'd never be posting at those times on all three of those days...

then you posted this...

oops! liar

so Tuesday and Thursdays aren't the same? The other page, you said they were! You said you'd "NEVER be posting after 3:30 on Thursdays", and now you're saying you "WOULD be posting after 3:30 on Thursdays."

I noticed you doing all this four years ago, so I moved on and let it go. But now you come in trashing Hog fans, then I'm going to remember you trashing me on the Arkansas board when I cannot respond. So anyone on this site and go back probably four years and see you posting all over the place in the afternoons or Friday nights when you'd supposedly be "coaching football."

Oh, but now you're admitting it's junior high assistant? That's cool, but it doesn't ring true because you're jumping your narrative around to cover time stamps of different posts.

Again, you want to trash me on the arky board, you get what you get. You get exposed.

And every time anyone can see a time stamp in a Friday night..."oh, we must have played on Thursday night..."

so again it's " Harry is a schizo"

your lying makes me a schizo

forgot, what about the posting 27 minutes before a high school game on Friday night??? So all the other coaches are out stretching and running pregame drills, but you're in the locker posting on your phone?

Lie #74!

You posted at 4:39 PM!

Again, I'm just going off your inability to keep your lies straight. Anyone who's interested can go back and look.

So, summation, four years ago you loved to jump on people because of your vast knowledge of the game of football, and now, four years later, you've admitted that - at BEST - you're a junior high assistant.

You love to trash people with made up narratives, and then you squeal like a little girl when you get exposed.

I'm going to go all the way back to August.

Can you do me a favor? Don't tell us your school of course. But can you tell me from your 2021, 2022 and 2023 years, which nights did you have junior high games and senior high varsity games? Thanks in advance

It is awesome. The kid is to be blessed, and he's done nothing wrong by changing his commitment. His life, his decision.

Also, Hog fans have done nothing wrong while reacting to him flipping to Florida.

Arky is better than UF right now and with Napier's future uncertain, I don't think it's a good idea to go to UF if there's no money involved. UF boosters may be asked to divert all the buyout money (it's probably over $40M to ditch Napier, deal with assistants, etc) to NIL this year, but then next year they may be asked to pony up the buyout money once again to fire Napier, and that means NIL money could be an issue, and I would not be counting on revenue sharing. Things are still up in the air on that one. Either way, it appears he would get more money at Arky. Do the math on compounding interest starting at age 18 or so, with $100k, or even $50k in the bank. In five rollover periods, that's probably over $1M, just with the $50k initial investment. That's life changing money.

That said...
- if he's always wanted to be a Gator, then no issues, he'll always have that, he'll have that helmet and jersey when he leaves and if that's a dream, no big deal. Money isn't everything, although it's very important.

- his education will not be better at UF. An undergrad degree is like community college: you get out of it what you put into it. If there is a degree program he's interested in because of UF, it's best to pursue that in grad school. That's where you will find a difference.

- I think it's a dick move to commit to a school, especially if a coach visits you time after time, and more so if you're a kicker or other special teams player, only to bail later on. And, if your son wanted to be a Gator forever, that should have been communicated to the other schools. Maybe it was, I'm not suggesting it wasn't. But it would be a dick move to not let them know.

- I think it's a much better chance to find a good chick at Arkansas than at UF, to be honest. Let's be real, if the choices are schools like Arky and UF, then winning is probably not a priority for him. So, these other factors should be considered. And there's always the possibility of taking the money, going to Arky, graduating early, and transferring to UF for grad school and finishing up eligibility there. This is especially the case if it appears he will redshirt.
That is really the optimal way to go, IMO. You get both experiences and end up in grad school at UF and academically, that is the time to be at a place like UF. By that time he has a good amount of money in an index fund. It's all gravy from there, and who knows, maybe he becomes a top kicker in the next few years, then NIL money rolls in and Arky and UF both bid for his services.
