To the fans? Yes. They wouldn't like it. I don't think it would be crushing for Golding though. If he had been told he couldn't coach a playoff team after he took another job, he likely would've just said "Understood" and left the building.

LSU has never won the natty with a first year head coach (that I’m aware of). We just want to see good football. Let’s be honest, we’re missing some key pieces this year such as star wide receivers, bruising running back, dominant O line. I don’t think we’re gonna get there this year.

Amazing since no other loss has ever seemed to crush him.
Ask him about his last loss at USC.
Or ask Layla about his loss to Texas while at USC. I think she had to remind him his kids were something to live for.
He also, unlike most would have, didn't really understand why taking the LSU job meant he loses his playoff team. Didn't take that loss well either.

No it isn't. LSU's fan base is doing what they do with every new head coach. they think they are a lock for the natty the next ten years
If you cannot tell the difference between trolling and serious posts, may I suggest you find another site. Making the claim you just made makes you look like the dumb one.
As an LSU fan, I can tall you that you are wrong.

So Layla told you all of that and all you have is a loss from when he was more than a decade younger?
Awesome.

This is either a lie or a supposition. There is no 3rd choice.

If LSU loses this game, this likely turns into a 5-6 loss team. Given he can’t keep his mouth shut, Lane could easily be on the hot seat in year 2

What’s truly childish is not recognizing the following…
1. If a coach is successful at Ole Miss they are going to leave.
2. There is no world where a successful coach leaves Ole Miss for another school and the fans don’t act like this. (See Tubby going to Auburn but the world was a lot larger then)

It's in the book. If she wants to say she didn't say it, I guess she can.
Lane's temper tantrum and arguing for nearly two hours to keep his team in the playoffs is well documented and not been denied by Lane or Ole Miss admin.

OMG! A Gump picks against LSU!!!!! STOP THE PRESSES! The whole GameDay crew will wear bow ties and suck up to the LandSharks in their overrated picnic area (Especially that idiot McAfee!) and you will think you have a shot. Come 7:30 reality will set in.
"Why did you leave us Lane?????"

Even if this horseshite were true.
It’s still just a loss.
It is week 3 with absolutely nothing on the line except bragging rights for us.

We were no. 2 when Ole Miss beat us in 2024, so that record is not correct. Maybe he means road matchups.

The book that quoted anonymous sources no less.
Why on Earth are you reading a book about CLK?

Temper tantrum is quite the reach, but you keep doing you brother.
I would think it would be admireable for one, who built an organization, to wish to remain with said organization, during any and all period after notification of separation. In fact, in most other industries, it is expected.

Wow, a sane moment. This, ironically, has to be the most pedestrian WR group down on the Bayou in years. Apparently Kiffin's budget gave out just shy of a full house. Sammy is going to feel compelled to put it all on his plate, and that spells lots of thrills and spills.
If Golding can't corral this passing game and stack the LOS, he needs to burn his defensive man card.

In fairness, they've had elite WRs for a quarter century now. They were bound to have a down year in terms of WR talent. However, they do have an elite TE to make up for their losses.

Put some 12 and 13 personnel and create some passing lanes with tight ends. Dae'Quan Wright, anyone?

Actually he doesn’t…but this is Ole Miss’ one shot with an elite QB and getting LSU in a rebuild…long term Ole Miss is will be in a slow decline back to mid-tier conference team…
