missouri and Texas A&M suck. I have this reaffirmed in my mind as they take awful beating after beating. The GREAT SEC conference as we know it is going away. We have to deal with vandy, miss st., ole miss, kentucky, until recently arkansas/s. carolina,,,now this.

Interesting, considering Kentucky is one of the original members of the SEC hack.

That is funny since you're a Mississippi State fan. Pot meet kettle. The two times Mizzou and MSU have met, MSU hasn't backed it up.

So as the first mizzou poster I have noticed a lot of missouri isn't the south they don't belong nonsense. So I have to decided to take a stab at illustrating why we are just like all... Well most of you. Let the mizzou hazing begin
.We entered the union as a slave state
The Missouri Tigers were an organization that loaded voting in Kansas as to
have Kansas enter as a slave state.
The largest religion by percentage is babtist
We like to call our hills mountains: Ozarks= Smokies
School specific similarities:
Arkansas- we both fish in the same lakes and our grandparents all vacation
in branson
Lsu - all that culture you have came from upriver. St. Louis has the 2nd
largest Mardi Gras
Missst - aren't you in coference USA yet?
Ole Miss - Our white dress shirts are pressed by Koreans too!
TAMU - we love playing at kyle field just as much as you do!
BAMA - Derek Dooley told me that if I don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all
Auburn - Our girls are hot. Yours are hot with accents. We should have a pillow fight. Cute tigers apparel required, LSU not invited.
Kentucky - You make whisky, we make meth. We are both entrepreneurs.
Tenn - if you live in Nashville or west you are likely a Cards fan.
Vandy - Don't you have test to study for? Stop reading useless message boards
UGA - We both suspend a lot of players. We just suspend them the week we find out they failed a drug test. We don't let them play against florida then sit them in the non conference game...
Florida - lets be honest here... the only thing florida and missouri have in common is that we both have a lot of waffle houses. The difference is that you need a GED to work at one in Missouri.
SC - Columbia bowl?
Instead of posting this long and well thought out post just post some pictures of your hot talents in mizzou and you'll get instant board of approval.

Aside from foreign exchange students, I don't think there are any Koreans in Oxford. There are some Chinese people, but no Koreans. So no we don't share this in common. Plus your women are ugly.

Wrong. This post proves you know little about The SEC and don't belong. No offense to Auburn, but they're not the top tier of hot women in the SEC. They're attractive since they are SEC girls, but they're not really in the debate for hottest chicks. And your chicks on average aren't even a third as hot as Auburn's.

As a Mizzou fan, I'm embarrassed by Mizzourah16's lame post. Most literate Missourians are no more proud of having been a slave state than most southerners, but apparently that's lost on my fellow Mizzou Tiger. And I think we should actually be playing in the SEC before talking smack to anyone (even Mississippi State).
I'll simply say that whether Mizzou "belongs" in the SEC is something that you'll have to come to terms with over time. We're confident that we'll earn the respect of the fans of the SEC (though we don't get it with sad posts like the one that started this thread).
The overwhelming majority of Mizzou fans are thrilled to be a part of the SEC. We're excited to learn more about the history of this conference, and to develop rivalries of our own. By all accounts, it took time for the old SEC schools to accept Arkansas and South Carolina as "authentic" members, and it appears that that transition worked pretty well.
Is Missouri a Southern state? Well, like many states, it has different regions with different sub-cultures. Southern Missouri is culturally quite similar to the regions of Tennessee and Arkansas which it borders. Northern Missouri is more classically Mid-western. But the truth is that there's not a simplistic "Southern" culture among the SEC schools either. Coastal South Carolina bears little resemblance to the Mississippi Delta culture, and Mobile, Alabama is quite dissimilar from northern Alabama. Louisville, Kentucky is a pretty Midwestern town.
People who aren't happy that Mizzou is part of the SEC will probably remain unhappy about it, until it stops being a novelty. Personally, my fantasy is that Mizzou will have so much success in the SEC that you all regret having let us in (but I'm not naive enough to think that will happen any time soon).
We don't have any strong feelings about any SEC teams, except Arkansas which we've grown to dislike (but I'm psyched to travel there for games when I can). Sports hate is a victimless emotion, and we thrive on it.
Finally, like all schools, some of our fans are fools and they post on message boards with frequency. Remember that they're not representative of the overwhelming majority of Mizzou fans that love their school, respect their opponents, and are grateful to the SEC for giving us a home.

Your first reason is about establishing your Old South racist cred?
As a Missourian and a Southerner I am ashamed of this person's bigotry and ignorant Yankee mis-education. It's long been said the winners of wars write history. No better example of this is when people claim "The War of Northern Aggression" was about slavery. It wasn't. If it was then why did Lincoln wait 2 years into the war to issue the Emancipation Proclamation? And why did the EP only free slaves in the South and not in Maryland and Delaware? Why did Lee free his slaves while Grant maintained his slaves throughout the war?
Pathetic.

Just depends what area of town, but the overall feel is definitely Southern. Some parts are just as just as Southern as anywhere. Some parts are full of transplants from everywhere. Same thing with Atlanta or any decent sized town.

Didn't discover this board until a few weeks after A&M joined. I know a lot of people are unhappy with our team's performance (trust me, so are we) and adding us in general. But please tell me that no Aggie made this dumb of a post when we first joined? Makes me sick to imagine. I do understand that this guy is probably not of the majority opinion, but still.

I to remember the #8 Missouri Tigers vs the #2 Arkansas Razorbacks 120-68 in Bud Walton arena in 1993. Man, that was fun to watch, unreal beat down.
Don't make our fan base invade your stadium in football just like we did to Ole Miss and Vanderbilt this year. We had more fans than the home team and we will do the same to Mizzou.

Doesn't matter where you go globalizm is removing barriers and distinctive lines.
The old south is dying everyday.
