Why can't UK issue bonds like everyone else? Seems like a dumb policy imho.

You can not be more wrong!

UK's biggest donors are not from the SEC footprint

Jim sold Host to IMG which is owned by Ivy League folks. He makes $$$$ from UK but does not give back. He was the one who built YUM for Louisville.

He is chump change to folks who have donated and not put their name on anything. Problem is these folks are dead or dying and UK has not treated their offspring well. When Mr Bill passed, the last link to the old UK died.

Actually it is smart. Giving politicians and unlimited source of funds would not help. When was the last time you saw government spend money well?

Cheese, what the Heck do you do? What are your connections to UK ?

You sorta know your info...and you certainly have some inside track to UKAA.

Host is the one who formed committees to build the Yum Center in Louisville. Still, the City is being screwed out of a ton of money with agreement with UL.

IMG is one of the biggest UK corporate sponsors due to tv/radio rights.

UK bonded 800 million on the hospital within the last couple of years and bonding capacity is maxed out currently.
When push comes to shove, the hospital brings in more dinero to UK than athletics does.

Uh... I doubt pissing off one side or the other would result in his world crashing down. He's got plenty of money and the Papa John's brand has become national.

I didn't necessarily mean "afford" in a monetary way. I thought that much was obvious.

yall should have a natural disaster. then yall could afford upgrades to your football stadium, a new baseball stadium, a new softball stadium, a basketball facility, AND a new hospital.
