I keep reading posts of fans talking about some school hiring Bobby Petrino. Dont know if this is coming from students who have no clue or older rednecks with no clue.

There is such a thing as human resources and hiring policies even in the college football world.

No major college football program is going to hire BP with his baggage. The school would immediately be in trouble with its educational staff on many fronts...imagine a professor that is accused of having sexual misconduct with a student or a dept supervisor accused of sexual harrassment. The acccused's attorney or even the plantiff's attorneys, would have a field day with the advent of hiring Petrino.

I guess no one on this board majored in law? The school hiring Petrino would be putting themselves at great risks. As much of a shock it is...our schools do have to be an academia institution and even have classes and studies etc etc.

Please read this and stop throwing crap on the wall that wont stick...that is all.

Petrino will coach again...that's a fact. It's just a question of who will be dumb enough to hire him?

There was no sexual misconduct with a student. Dorrell was no longer in school during the time of their relationship. There was also no sexual harassment; their relationship was mutual.

Petrino cheated on his wife, gave a job to his mistress, and lied to the University about his relationship with Dorrell and the circumstances of his motorcycle crash. Legally speaking, Bobby showing favoritism to his love interest is hardly different than showing favoritism to his brother or son in giving them jobs.

What Bobby did was horribly unethical and stupid, but as far as legal risks to Arkansas or future legal risks to other Universities who hire him, I just don't see it.

I bet there will be a handful of decent to top schools that will give Petrino serious consideration b/c his ability to win may be good enough to outweigh his baggage. It's just up to each individual athletic director and school to determine how much baggage they're willing to carry in order to increase their odds of winning.

This.

The OP's analogy really isn't valid at all.

The defense rests your honor. Obviously you dont know the law....it isnt consentual or mutual when a supv and an employee is involved

In the end BP was fired for lying to his superiors when asked about the controversial incident. Would he have been fired if he just came out with the truth from the get go? That is debatable, but either way it wouldn't have been too big a surprise.

Obviously a lack of integrity in character was known before he even got to Arkansas but this acknowledges a subject ever present in college (or otherwise) athletics. What are schools willing to give up (or deal with) to win and exactly how desperate are they for a successful program.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if BP ends up at name program this off-season.

He had an affair with a grown woman (non-student) and also hired his mistress.

This is not the same thing as sexual misconduct with a student or sexual harassment.

Someone will hire him.

Are you saying that every sexual relationship between a supervisor and subordinate is sexual harassment?

Hiring someone as a subordinate where there is a pre-existing relationship is not sexual harassment

I'm sure all universities with major football programs are running right over to their human resources dept. to make sure there are no problems with the hire.

What's probably closer to the truth is that if the right school thinks that Bobby will revive the football program, then interns will be provided. He will be told he can't own a motorcycle though.

Actually by initiating this you'd be the prosecution, however it's clear you're not an attorney, which is good news for any potential clients...but badnews for opposing counsel.

His philosophy doesn't suit the SEC well anyway. He'd fare much better at a Big 12 school.

If Petrino can take Arkansas to a BCS game, he could do even bigger things at Auburn. I hope he doesn't end up there.

CV's crystal ball tells of the future.

A future where Reel Gator, is $150K in student loan debt for law school, studying to retake the bar a 3rd time and working at a Krogers.

Man, i miss Kroger. Living up here in NYC, you learn real quick how much you miss a grocery store with wide aisles and cheapish prices.

Safeway for me. The deli and Bakery of West Coast Safeways are the real f'n deal.

However, you can't go wrong with a Southern deli section where they'll make a sammich on the fly for you just the way you ask. In Arkansas, you can walk into any grocery store that's not a Wal*Mart and they'll whip up whatever you want to order. In Oklahoma and Texas they'll say some dickheaded thing like "We've got sandwiches in the case", and I say MF'r, I don't want one of those, I want a sammich made exactly how I want it.

I could just imagine the crazy looks and attitude they'd give you in NYC if you ask that they cut it with a clean knife.

There are so many deli's in NYC, I don't know why anyone would ever try to have them make a sandwich for you at the grocery store.

I wish I liked seafood, though, cause the selection is pretty impressive up here.

Is it routine for people who study law to get their facts wrong. Well in this case jr, it is.
