I have no clue where all this noise is coming from but the Ole Miss 24/7 board is already saying Kiffin shouldn't be allowed to coach this weekend. They're losing it.

But look at the other schools with fired coaches. None are trying to get out of paying. All of them left each other without throwing darts at each other. Just typical firings. But those other schools are not trying to change the firing to for cause and give less money to coach.
I think that's the difference. It honestly doesn't matter if Kelly had an affair with Mother Teresa. LSU should have just paid and moved on, that would be the better long term play. They should know if they had the money before deciding to fire too.
If they took the high road that would have opened floodgates for coaches. Heck, LSU could have put out a statement that they possibly have info to do a for cause firing but to allow both parties to move forward they will pay out his contract. That would have made them look good and made Kelly look worse yet allow LSU to move past Kelly.

That board lost it many years ago. The are all RINOs - Rebels In Name Only.
They would all rather have "access", than Ole Miss succeed. Just a bunch of boomers, doing boomer things.

I love how close the LSU / UF rivalry is. I know it’s not the number 1 game for either team, but it’s always been one of my favorites as an LSU fan.
Hate that we don’t get to play every year, and I agree the jobs are relatively even. The only real selling point LSU has is we are the job in state. UF has to fight with Miami and FSU.

To some extent this is true, but Ole Miss can't make Mississippi into an economic engine or go back 2 decades to when it had 10k students or make itself into a top tier school that is going to pump out the moneyed alums necessary.
UF has been 3x as big as Ole Miss for decades. That's just way more pool to exploit.

Well since we landed on the moon, we're 10-5, but I'm sure the recruits will enjoy hearing about your previous success while listening to the latest Sinatra LP on their hi-fi.

Had Florida played in the SEC West at that time, they would have finished no better than 3rd or 4th.
