This has one of three possible endings. By year 3 Lane is at Alabama, By year 3 Lane is at Texas. By year 4 Lane is getting a fat buyout.

He’s never been a head coach of one of the big 6 in the SEC. Something tells me he’ll be just fine at LSU.
FYI, Tennessee has been booted from the big 6 because they haven’t won the SEC in 25 years.

Very little first year. Playoffs by year 4. Improvement each year in between.

Bruh. How many teams did yall beat with a winning SEC record? First team with a pulse and you lose by 10? Yikes.

Third year, he needs to have a playoff spot locked up.
Or else what? Chicken man pays another $60 million and we do this again?

First year, just improving and building a solid roster.
Second year, competing for a spot in the playoffs.
Third year, he needs to have a playoff spot locked up.
The chances of the LSU fanbase being this patient are close to 0%.

When you’re actually good at what you do people try to hire you. Winners get recruited. That’s the reality. And if you’ve got real ambition you’re always chasing the next tier not sitting around pretending you’ve already arrived.
For Kiffin there was only one other place that could’ve pulled him from Ole Miss and that was Alabama. That’s it. Every other option was either a stall or a step backward.
LSU isn’t a lateral move. It’s the mountaintop. He’s spent years climbing out of the midtier trenches and now he finally has a chance to operate at a place where the ceiling is championships not participation trophies.
He’s done everything he can do at Ole Miss. Now he gets to build something real. A machine. A dynasty.

Solid QB play. The defense will be good as always

10 wins are possible with LSU's resources. If it is anything less than that, the fans will riot.

expect LSU to be slightly harder to run out of the stadium next year
Bless your little Aggie heart. Finally a year without your usual 8/4 performance and you come here talking shite.
