Realistically, how good is Florida going to be?

I will be honest, I don't know what Florida returns next year. But I do know that they lost a lot of NFL talent on defense and I don't necessarily trust Cheese teeth to run a competent offense. So, what is Floridas ceiling and floor when it comes to W/L and who do they lose to?

Maybe Michigan, maybe Georgia, maybe FSU and Alabama in the SEC champ game.

Georgia is going to be the dominant team in the East moving forward as long as Kirby's there. Florida is going to be spinning their wheels with Tennessee.

I do agree that Georgia will win the east this year as long as Eason progresses like he should.

It'll be interesting. Their defense minus that L they caught to the VOLS to the tune of 38 unanswered was their saving grace last year. Now that Muschamps defensive studs are out and Jim Bob's 3 stars are replacing them I think there will be a lot of people keeping their eyes peeled on what's happening down in Gainesville.

Agree with this. McElwain inherited easily the second best defense in the conference and most of those guys are gone now.

Even though he's supposed to be an offensive coach, his offenses have been just as bad or WORSE than what Muschamp produced lol.

2014: 96th in total offense
2015: 112th in total offense
2016: 116th in total offense (behind South Carolina)

Y'all can refer to the Lorenzo Lingard megathread to see how the UF posters feel about the direction of their program, as well as their opinion of Mac and how he has handled thing's post Muschamp.

Just be prepared to wade through 25 pages of posts to get the info.

People say that every year. Never pans out that way. I don't know how anyone gets that GA is going to be tops in the East after what they did in 2016?

Exactly, McElwain has won the East 2 years in a row without a competent qb. Kirby lost to Vandy at home, and barely beat Nicholls st. at home. Plus y'all all forget just how many injuries on defense UF fought through at the end of last season. The LSU game alone UF was missing every starting LB. They played the game with 2 true freshmen at LB. Plus were without 2 starting D linemen.

Butch is your coach, he basically had the east won last year. Then he shite his pants and lost to Muschamp (again) and then Vandy. Any real fanbase would have wanted him fired. But you dumbasses complained for a few weeks and then started up the pre-season hype machine (again)

Gonna be hard without an OL or WRs. He does have Nauta tho.

I think the WRs play better. The east will definitely be interesting next year. I see it being between Georgia/Kentucky/Tennessee?

Not really. That wasn't the consensus last year at all. UGA was picked 3rd, iirc.

I think the East will be competitive, but people are saying that because UGA returns a lot, has Eason in his second season, a HC that isn't a rookie anymore, and got its highest rated recruiting class this century.

So? Florida is still going to get its arse kicked all season long.

Just as a reminder: Mizzou has won the east something like 30% of the time they've been in the conference. Might be a good idea to include them, their last place finish was just an aberration.

We had no DL at that time. The injury situation had gotten to the point where we were running 4-2-5 instead of 4-3, playing DEs at DT (every single DT was injured), the backups of backups cuz the original backup got injured and so on. Without injuries those games aren't dropped (we had 21 different starters on defense alone) and anyone with a lick of sense knows it but they happened and we lost those games yet we still beat UF last season.

As for the pre-season hype machine... you really believe we believe?
