2 reasons. Money & scheduling.

A lot more money from 9 conf games and dare i say conf semi fields?

4 divisions of 4 would be perfect. 3 div games the half the teams home/home for 2 years then switch. Perfect.

The 14-team conference model is an abomination and we either need to go back to twelve or up to 16

So either send Mizzou and UK packing or bring in our new North Carolinian overlords

Kick out Mizzou, Vandy, and Kentucky; bring in FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, UNC, and either Texas or OU

^^My ideal scenario here

Kick NOBODY out, especially not charter members like Vandy. Take NOBODY from an already-present footprint (so NO to Texas, FSU, Climpsun, and GT) or a shitty footprint (so NO to OU). Make a HARD run at UNC WITHOUT frickING DOOK and go after VT or UVA. If UNC wants to play "texas" frick them. Get NC State and let those baby-blue asswipes swing in the breeze. That's IT. The other ideas are short-sighted and dumbassary. Keep it the South. This is the Dixie Normus Conference.

And for the love of red-arse hyena buttsex, NO to THE frickING LONGHORNS. Are you people incapable of learning from the history of the destruction of two conferences?

The SEC will go after VA or VA Tech and NC State if another round of alignment starts.

NC State

Crazy talk. The SEC may end up taking NC State but there's no way they're not making a big push at UNC first. And frankly I don't see where all the confidence B1G fans about UNC is coming from. Basically a bunch of twitterers who only know what the B1G is saying publicly because the SEC has largely worked in the shadows. I have a hard time seeing UNC go to the B1G, but if they do and the SEC gets NC State, it's the end of UNC being the premier program in football in NC IMO.

One more step toward the eventual implosion of college football as we know it.

Football & TV sets are what this is all about.

Maybe to you.

I'd much rather see a combination of FSU/UNC/Clemson than VTech/NCSt.

fricking THIS. The fricking longhorns were too arrogant to realize that a decent program will usually stay decent and sell tickets. But, a decent program + SEC = a synergetic rise that is greater than the sum. UNC will get in the SEC before NC State or it will become take a back seat.

Why is FSU any better than VT? Why the frick do you want UNC? Football is king in the SEC.

If VT and FSU are equal, VT is the better choice for TV exposure and $$$ purposes. College football is big business.

You are MORE than welcome to go join their buttpirate conference and see what it's like for a while. You think Bama rules the SEC with an iron fist?

Why? They @ least bring some academic credibility to this conference.
If anyone should be kicked out it should be Mississippi State. They are useless in everything and water down the markets in an already small state. Having just Ole Miss would be preferable to both of them.
After that we can invite UNC, Duke, and UVA.

Why is FSU any better than VT?

I think in the long run they have a better football program and would have more interesting matchups in the SEC that VTech. It's a more compelling matchup with a program that fits the SEC culture better. From 1968 to 1992 LSU played FSU more games than they played against Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia and Vandy.

UNC could have an excellent football program. AND they would bring more quality basketball to the conference.

Now why the frick do YOU care about TV exposure and $$$? Do you really think A&M playing in VA once every 8 years is really going to make a difference in exposure for the Aggies?

Plus, what the frick ever happened to consumer demand? You remember what demand used to mean in the marketplace? I'm tired of the corporates telling consumers what they're supposed to want. I want corporates listening to what the consumers actually want to watch.

I NEVER want to see LSU play North Carolina STATE in a conference game. I just don't.

College football is big business.

No it isn't, it's entertainment. I haven't made any money at all on college football once you subtract my expenses of going to the games from my meager winnings.

At a certain point you have to stop and ask yourself, "What is college football for? Is it for corporate executives to increase their salaries? Is it for ever increasing salaries for coaching staffs? Or is it really just a way for me to pass the time with a diversion from the every day stresses I face, with matchups with teams that I find intriguing?"

Case in point: Alabama 2013 schedule. Ga. State, Chattanooga and Colorado STATE?

If the path of college football is to increase bullshite games like above, and decrease exciting matchups like Alabama vs FSU, I'll become disinterested in college football.

So tell mwe, if college football is such big business, how much money have YOU made on it?

All that said, A&M was an EXCELLENT choice to add to the conference, as was Arky. Mizzou? Not so much. But I'm talking in terms of matchups and rivalries - the very things that have driven college football to be as successful as it is today. They shouldn't kill the goose.

I'd say yes to kicking out Kenticky and Missouri frick those Yankees. But Vandy is far from useless. They bring academic credibility. Mississippi State however is the single most useless school in the conference as they suck @ everything and water down an already small state.

Clemson, Florida State, and Tech I say no to those frickers as well. Especially Tech. I do not want them back in the conference to potentially take away anything from Georgia. And if that means us, Florida, and USC-e forming a pact to not vote in duplicates from the other states then so be it.

Who we do need to invite is UNC, a Virginia school preferably Virginia but if they are set on going to the B1G they Va Tech is ok. Finally we should add Duke for both more academics and to entice UNC to come, and Texas because they are the premier program of there state and there are a ton more Longhorn fans than there are Aggie fans. Hell I'd bet there are more Longhorn fans alive right now than there are Aggie fans alive and dead over the past 25 years.
And for the final spot either add Oklahoma or add Texas Tech. Either would be preferable for the final spot than the 3 we should kick out of the conference.

To sum up my long post - Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Missouri.

+ Duke, North Carolina, and Texas. And either Virginia or Virginia Tech. And either Oklahoma or Texas Tech.
