Will the South go into a great depression? What will we do on the weekends? What would the landscape of cfb be going forward?

There is still some time to see if something big happens to reverse how things are trending, but It is a real possibility at this point unfortunately.

It would be a crushing blow no doubt but what I think this virus did do was put perspective into all of our lives!

Stay safe!

Domestic violence, hunting violations, cock fighting and pregnancies will sky rocket.

I think by May at the latest, the country is going to have to deal with facing the reckoning that life must go on. I think we have 3-6 more weeks of intense social-isolation / lockdowns. Then it will shift to, "be as safe as you can, but go about your daily lives".

In 3-6 weeks, all of those non-essential businesses will be given a choice to open back up. A lof of folks will choose to continue staying at home, some will venture out.

My belief is that we will have college football, but I believe fans will not be in the stands.

If it's still going on in the Fall, we have bigger problems than no CFB.

Things will be back to normal by the end of May. The NBA and MLB are already talking about playing this year.

This would happen. Mississippi State finally nuts up and hires a good coach, and then the season gets cancelled. And then Mike Leach retires before ever coaching a game. frick.

This.

Cuomo's speech today addressed this.. we'll soon need to cut our losses economically and accept the fact we are going to lose a chunk of the weaker population.

The herd must continue.

If there is no football in the fall, one has to wonder if that is not the nail in the NCAA's coffin leading up to & possibly including an XFL type takeover or corporate co-ops. AD's in large part are practically over capitalized as it is being "non profits", factor in a year of virtually zero revenue?

Nightmare. Not every institution will be willing or able to subsidize that catastrophe.

None of this is happening.

The hyperventilating and doomsday speak is worse than the virus.

A lot of people are going to feel silly in a couple of months when things are back to normal.

No. No one is going to feel silly after thousands of people are dead as a result of this virus. Over a thousand people died from COVID-19 today in just Italy and Spain. That's one day. And everyday keeps getting worse.

Yes, the breaking point for the business community rising up and saying, "enough is enough, we have to get back to some type of normalcy" is without a doubt coming in the next 3-6 weeks, but if you think everyone is going to shrug their shoulders and act like this was nothing but a few people with a slight cough, you're crazy.

No one is going to feel silly. The goal of all this is to go back to normal as soon as possible and to have a normal to go back to.

When was the last we didn't have a football season in the SEC?

Things would be very, very dark if we missed a season.
We would have to deal with the dumb-as-shite LSU mouthbreathers for a whole extra year. (Most of them will leave after their first loss - just like they leave Tiger Stadium when they start to lose)

The Alabama fans would become mentally unstable, and the state of Alabama would become a dangerous place.

The list of problems goes on...

I think suicides would increase in Alabama. Esp after they realize they haven’t won the National championship since 2017.

Well I'm sure people who don't understand the stats of other things that kills people won't feel silly.

But that's just because they are dumb.
