Look, most fan don't seem to comprehend what Saban and Alabama have going right now.
Each year Saban has recruited the best talent, and the team is getting more experienced top to bottom.
The next few years Alabama will field a team more talented and physical than any period over the last 30 years, possibly the last 100 years.
Don't look for a drop-off. Look for the team to get better each year until something happens to stop it.
Think about Kentucky basketball having all the players they've had since Cal got there for 3-4 years, not going pro. How good would they be?
This is the start of the most dominating period of Alabama football ever. It will rival, no, surpass the 70's.

I don't know if you can count Mcarron week to week. He played well on Jan. 9 , but most of his passes were dump off to tight end and he ha a month to prepare. Most of my Bama friends thought he sucked throughout the year. If he can play like he did on Jan. 9th then y'all should have a decent passing attack. I also wonder if y'all will have a decent enough run game to make teams bite on the play action. I know Lacy is talented, but he couldn't stay healthy as a back up. While Fowler is a good bruiser, I don't think he can be as effective as TRich and Lacy. I do think Bama's o line will be one of the best so whomever is at rb will have some success just from y'all line.

Bama's offense will likely be better than any he has had at Alabama. Eager to see what changes occur with a new OC.
Questions on defense will concern whether Bama has a NT, LBs and DBs who can play near the level of this year's team. Michigan game will tell Bama about NT and LBs and Arky will provide info on the DBs.
Hopefully, Griffith is the real thing at kicker.
Bama could be a better team but not repeat as the schedule is much more difficult in 2012. LSU's schedule is much easier than 2011 but they have a few questions that will need to be answered as well. LSU will have to cross its fingers that nothing happens to Mett. LSU defense has a chance to be special.

That entire 6 man receiving core has a total of 34 career receptions. 3/6 have never seen the field in college.

Alabama is returning a ton of talent and they'll reload in the positions of need. They're in a better position than in '10. How some don't think they'll be a threat is laughable and ignorant.

3/6, but your point is fair.

Damn, just damn.

it's still not a very fair point because they can all catch the ball or they wouldn't be on scholarship & McCarron can get it to them so that's really all that matters.

Well, sure they can catch, but can they consistently get open and catch the ball, as well as block every play? We will see.

hopefully McCarron can throw them open.. & his post was referring to receptions so that's mainly what I was responding to. I see your point about the blocking though, I don't expect any of those to be the next Julio when it comes to that but Eddie Williams is pretty physical so it will be interesting to see what he can do.

Damn it's crazy what one game , with a month to prepare, changes the perception of Mcarron. Most of my Bama friends thought he was a liability. Now he is a strength?

My bad. I forgot about Duron Carter.

McElroy was a liability as a first year starter. Then he went on to have a tremendous year in his second year starting.
Posted on 2/12/12 at 1:33 am to Rickdaddy4188
he's absolutely a strength. obviously he was going to struggle at times being a 1st year starter in the SEC but every Bama fan that I know saw his potential from day one.

I feel that we have a better chance at a repeat than we did in 2009. We are far superior to the other teams in the SEC this year and I feel certain that we will beat LSU in BR this year.
If Saban has the D ready our Offense will win the NC. I predict us vs. USCw in the NC game and we beat Kiffin by 3 TD's.
