I've lurked on enough of their boards over the last few months. Most of the fan base seems alright.
From Arkansas' perspective, we're going to play them every year anyway so it just counts a little more.

5. Massive potential if they ever get their shite together, which may be never. I worry somewhat about how they'll affect our recruiting in TX.

If UT/Bama rivalry continues, I have no problem with it.
If the rivalry ends, I'll give it a -2.

What will be interesting:
The first visits of SEC fans (other than LSU and Arky) to College Station.
The first visits of aTm fans to SEC campuses.

Solid addition; I give it an 8. Large university and fanbase, good football team, plus academically and opens up Texas TV markets and probably helps recruiting.
The problem of course is a 14th team was not added simultaneously so now we have division imbalance. And considering the other conferences are doing everything they can to consolidate, I'm not sure I see a viable 14th team in the near future. With the BE breaking up, I'm concerned that we could be stuck with one of their remnants.

2 - not because of A&M as I actually enjoy watching them play. But, I see this as just the start and it won't end until there are 16 teams. That leaves but one non-divisional game and 7 divisional games. You would almost have to do away with permanent non-divisional match ups to make it fair. I like the traditional match ups and all that ends so that a few folks can make more money and lessen the importance of the regular season just to get to a workable playoff.

I hate expansion and in that vain rate it a 0, but if expansion is inevitable (and it is) then TAMU is a great fit IMO.

5 until we see how it works. People don't like change, especially when you have something that works. The SEC was already the best conference in the land, why change a good thing?
Tex A&M does have good traditions, like the 12th man. I just read about it and it's a neat tradition. Alabama had a 12th man for one game, Tommy Lewis. But he didn't stay on the sidelines, he came off the sideline and tackled a Rice player when he wasn't suppose to.
I am looking forward to seeing Aggies fans visiting the Alabama campus. It's always fun to welcome other cultures to your town.
Alabama and Tex A&M does have history too, especially with the coaching changes... Bryant to Bama and Fraud to A&M. I think Bama got the better of that.
