Two of Bama's NC teams in your list required mulligans . One didn't even win their division .

Alabama 2011 is the best. Why? Because 2011 LSU is arguably one of the greatest teams of all time. And Alabama lost by 3 at home, then won 21-0 in New Orleans.

2011 Bama and LSU had two of the best defenses in CFB ever. There is no doubt about this. You could make a case that those two teams plus Bama 92 could all be in the top 5. Definitely top 10 ever.

Of the post 90s SEC teams I'd put 2008 Florida at the top then 2011 Bama, the 90s Florida teams might be better than either of them but it's hard to tell because they were so much better than anyone else that they never really struggled at all in SEC play.

Healthy Harvin 08 Florida though was as dominant as I've ever seen an SEC- they basically just walked out dropped 50 and then might let you hit 20 of the back ups were bored.

Actually 1995 Florida was the most dominant UF team ever.

They just ran up against the GOAT - 1995 Nebraska.

Who cares, those teams were the best the year that they won their championships and that's all that matters. The rest is just pissing and moaning.

Disagree again. The '12 defense is statistically comparable to the '09 team. And the '11 defense's numbers may be aided by the fact that the only offense they faced that year with a pulse was Arkansas.

'12 Alabama was a more balanced and more complete team than '09 or '11.

if that's your argument, 2015 needs to be way higher.

2012 was Saban's best team, and I think it would beat the 2011 team. That offensive line would have won the battle against the 2011 D line. Which in retrospect, really wasn't that good. The entire 2015 D-line 2 deep, and maybe 3 deep, would have played for the 2011 team before any starter from 2011 saw the field. Except for maybe Chapman, and he played hurt. What made that team so dangerous was the LB core, especially at Jack.

When Lacy was 100%, 2012 was a completely different animal. Look at how many offensive starters/contributors are now NFL starters, at least part time. Plus guys who are on active rosters.

Started at least 1 NFL game in 2015:

McCarron
Lacy
Yeldon
Cooper
Wardaddy
Fluker
Cyrus Kouandjio

On active rosters in the NFL:

Arie Kouandjio- Redskins
Michael Williams- Patriots
Barrett Jones- Eagles
DeAndre White- 49ers(tore ACL early in '12 season)
Kevin Norwood- Panthers
Austin Shepherd-Vikings
Jalston Fowler- Titans

Guys on 2 deep who will be drafted this year:

Kenyan Drake
Cyrus Jones- was on offense 2 deep in 2012

Defense was better than some remember too:

Guys who started at least 1 NFL game in 2015
:

CJ Mosley
Haha
Landon Collins
Quinton Dial

On an active roster:

Damion Square
Jeoffrey Pagan
Robert Lester
Dee Milliner
Nico Johnson
Vinnie Sunseri
Jesse Williams- still recovering from cancer.

*Xavier Dickson. Currently on Falcons' practice squad, but started 14 games for the Patriots in 2014.

Guys on 2012 2 deep who will be drafted this year:

Reggie Ragland
Denzell Devall

Special Teams:

Carson Tinker- started 16 games at LS for the Jags

That is 31 guys who are contributors for an NFL team, or will be drafted in 2016. 11 of that number are starters. That is a lot of talent. That isn't including redshirt freshmen, nor freshmen who did not play outside of special teams or garbage time. It also didn't include guys who got a shot, are already out of the league, or who are on practice squads.

2010 was Saban's most talented team. But 2012 isn't far behind, upwards of 65 guys from that team will at least get a shot on NFL rosters.

I remember how much that 2012 team struggled defensively against top competition. LSU, Aggy and Georgia all had their way with them on offense. I personally believe the 2009 Bama team was the best out of the bunch. They beat three teams that finished in the top 10 all by double digits. They defeated five teams that finished in the top 25 all by two scores or more. The awfulness of Greg McElroy and McElwain's atrocious red zone playcalling masked how good that team really was. 2009 Bama had their best special teams unit out of the four NC teams. Leigh Tiffin was terrific his senior and Javy Arenas was by far the best return man in the Saban era. They were the best defense at forcing turnovers and making explosive plays until the 2015 team came along. That team also had the most experience and strongest leadership out of the four NC teams. They were phenomenal at overcoming adversity and rarely made mistakes. I still have to put them at the top even though they might not be talented as the other teams.

If you heavily factor in SOS, they probably should be higher...they had the toughest SOS of any champion in the BCA/BCS/CFP era...

Why? 2015 Alabama, while good, was nowhere near as dominant on offense as 2012 Alabama. Alabama's offense in '12 averaged almost 450 yards per game while the offense in '15 averaged less than 430 yards per game.

The 2012 defense was also statistically better against some pretty good competition that year.

They also split the national championship with USC that year.
