You Johnny Come Lately's need to go back and read up on your SEC history. I knew we shouldn't have let Texans into this conference. It could only frick things up.
Most of the TAMU fans know football. This one is just the auburnphan of their group. Not fair to judge them all based on him.

13 possible games a season.
in fairness, college football didn't go to a 12 game regular season until the 2006 season, 14 years after divisional play began.

Georgia and Tennessee on the clock.
I actually would put us behind Arkansas, but on the fast track to rise much quicker.
I think Florida would have the most "passable" all time resume, but too much recent success to overcome in most current fans minds.
Georgia is really pushing it. They're an incredible program, they're consistently "good" and have so much potential, buttttttttttt.....

First, I offered an approximation, not a precise mathematical result. Second, did I say the doldrums were all in consecutive years? I count eleven years of 8 wins or less (including a 5-6 season two years prior to 2007) in the SECCG era of 13 possible games a season. That's "close to half" of 23. If you want to argue that 8 wins isn't in the doldrums for the #2 program in the SEC historically, we can discuss. But you really took it a bit too literally.
Prior to 2008 UT had been consistently good. A random bad season cannot be described as "doldrums" the only thing that would match that description is 2008 to 2014. 7 seasons or less than 1/3

With the SECCG plus a bowl, they could have 13, which is why I specified "possible". An SECCG season would definitely be a successful one for UT.

They were consistently good. I don't dispute that at all. But they had bad years that didn't reach the standards for the 2nd best program in the SEC. You prefer consecutive. I was speaking overall. I'm right by my definition, you're right by yours. Might as well just let the debate end on that note. Fair enough?

Historically, though, UT is the king of the SEC East, easily dispatching close rivals Georgia and Florida on a big-picture scale.
I get what the writer means, but this is a poor statement. The East has only existed for a little over 2 decades, and UT is 3rd or 4th best in that time.

This reeks of response thread, possibly to this post of mine...

Auburn emptied out Neyland the last 3 times we visited.

They may be our rivals, but we have UT's back:
21-20-1

We're beating y'all up in defense of our state of Tennessee brethren's honor.

Eh, I hope the fanbase as a whole is not represented by the shitstain Aggie posters I have seen on this board for the most part. They are fricking awful.

You lost me at Alabama winning 15 titles

Tennessee only started claiming 6 around 5 or 6 years ago. Prior to the remodel of the interior of Neyland and a bunch of banners being displayed, Tennessee only claimed 1951 and 1998.
I'm not gonna get into this discussion again, (Korin, WE ARE NOT HAVING THIS DISCUSSION AGAIN, the answer is NO), but the only title we have no business claiming is 1967. That leaves us with 5, and quite frankly, I don't care if anyone agrees or not.

14 is probably more reasonable. 1941 is bullshite. The others, not so much.

To troll two fanbases at once, of course. I think the backhanded trolling of UT in my post was worse than the overt one of Auburn.

Does saying 10 poll titles make you feel better?

: a state or period of sadness or depression
: a state or period in which there is no activity or improvement
I get what you're saying, but doldrums wasn't the correct term to use for it.
Doldrums indicates a span of time in which we would've been down.
2008-2014 is the only period that matches the definition.
