Ranking the SEC Games this weekend (Week 12)

Awesome lineup ahead of us tomorrow, the SEC will either come out on the other side with things a whole lot clearer, or we could all be wondering where it goes from here.
1. Texas @ Georgia (7:30, ABC)
Every game since Florida has been a must-win for the Longhorns. Georgia looks to be on cruise control, probably in a great spot to secure their playoff future with a win and then see what happens with the SEC Championship game. If they lose, it could get extremely interesting. For Texas, Arch has played closer to what we all thought, but can he do it on the road in an very hostile environment with everything on the line? Games like these are why the SEC is the best conference, hands down.
2. Oklahoma @ Alabama (3:30, ABC)
Oklahoma's run defense is great. Unfortunately for them, Alabama can't run the ball on their best day, so does it really matter? Oklahoma is looking pretty good: Mateer is healthy, the Sooners are coming off a bye, and the last time they played was an impressive win over Tennessee. Alabama has stumbled a little down the stretch, struggling against USCe and LSU. The Tide will have to put together a complete game for the first time in a while if they want to win this one and secure a berth in the SECCG.
3. Florida @ Ole Miss (7, ESPN)
Welcome to the inaugural Lane Kiffin 'Money in the Bank' Bowl, where the winner of this one gets Lane as their head coach next year. If Florida beats the Rebs, Lane rides back to Gainesville with the Gators and immediately starts recruiting and trolling FSU and Miami. If Ole Miss wins, they will be jumping around celebrating when suddenly "Neck" starts to play over the sound system and Jim Ross yells, "By Gawd, that's LSU's music!!"
4. South Carolina @ Texas A&M (Noon, ESPN)
Ah, the old classic rivalry game between the Cocks and the Ags, two foes that have a rich history all the way back to 2014. You know how rivalry games go: anything can happen!.... It would take a tremendous effort from the Gamecocks to pull an upset here, but stranger things have taken place in the wildest season since 2007. A&M fans keep jumping at loud noises and glancing over their shoulders, waiting for the bottom to finally fall out, but so far these Aggies look like a legit football team.. I doubt it all goes south this weekend.
5. Mississippi State @ Missouri (7:45, SECN)
Does Missouri still have a chance at the CFP? It doesn't look like it, barring a major collapse in front of them from nearly every SEC and non-SEC team. So, how much does that matter to the Tigers? Drink went out of his way to say the playoffs aren't the only reason the game is played, but will the team listen? Will he still be the coach in 3 weeks? MSU has played some good football and some bad football this season. They're entirely capable of winning this game and getting bowl eligible for the first time since 2023. Lose, and it all comes down to the Egg Bowl.
6. Arkansas @ LSU (12:45, SECN)
"Alright! Just what we wanted, a noon-ish game in Death Valley!" - No one ever. This game used to matter, but this season has been an unmitigated disaster for both teams. Coaching hires are the only thing to get excited about now. This will be a literal stinker in Baton Rouge.

It’s not really fair that Georgia gets to play a cupcake this late in the season

(5) lol, if you haven’t won a co-conference championship in 56 years your probably not going to sniff playoffs

Dang it, y’all are gonna lower our strength of schedule even lower
Posted on 11/14/25 at 4:43 pm to Goombaw
I don’t know if I’d consider A&M’s relationship with Cocks a rivalry

If yall go undefeated till then, but lose to that cupcake, you will miss your best chance ever at an SEC championship game. IT will be GLORIOUS.

You see personally, I would rather concede that game to you guys miss out on the chance for any injury in the SEC championship game and get to rest for the playoff

I absolutely 100% believe that the SEC championship game is now a complete and utter waist
With the expanded playoffs is just an opportunity for players to get hurt in a meaningless game
Crown the champion off of wins and losses, and use the tiebreaker method if needed
But if it doesn’t help an SEC team make it into the playoffs then it is completely meaningless
And with the added games in the playoffs, now, the opportunity for injury is greatly magnified
It just makes no sense

I'll gladly take the loss to Georgia and win against A&M...
.. then watch yall get knocked out of the playoffs first round.

Oh I agree about the SEC championship game. It does more harm than good. I'm referring to the rivalry game.
No Texas or Aggie fan is ok with losing that game. Yeah going to the playoffs is more important but that is a game you want to win, regardless of record.
