You start with Sully and Van Horn. You can rank off your biases after that. Plenty of reasonable options for third among the next five or six.

Swap Lemonis and OSullivan at 2 & 4 then switch Bianco and Thompson at 6 & 7 and I'll allow it

From Smoke? Don’t think so. He has been at LSU long enough to take credit for his success and get blamed for its failures

Van Horn has built Arkansas' up

Not sure where Arky was when Dave arrived but CPM followed Smoke, not Skip. There was a reason Smoke was fired.

And both have been at it so long initial conditions are negligible now.

O’Sullivan is 1b with Corbin.
Lemonis is outside the top 5 until he does it longer.
Same with Butch.
DVH should be behind Paul.
Wherever Bianco is, Childress should be even with him. They have the same resume.
I expect Villeto to climb this ranking over the next couple seasons.

PM has more SEC titles, SECT titles, wins, conference wins, head to head wins, national titles. Where would you like to start? Van Horn had a 7-23 SEC record a few years ago for goodness sake

Why has DVH been anointed the new GOAT the past couple of days? Did I miss something? He has 1 SEC title in 20 years. Crown him

Sure. Coaching at Arky is exactly the same as coaching at LSU. Truth is LSU and Vandy have huge built in advantages over most other schools and several other coaches in this league would have done at least the same over the last 15 years at those schools as Manieri and Corbin. Likely more.

He’s been there 20 years. Arkansas has plenty of resources at this point.

Ok

LSU being good is not a built in advantage. And Vandy was a doormat their entire history before Corbin. Excuses are a bad look bud

TOPS and branding is a huge advantage. Now Vandy has the biggest scholarship advantage and has used it well. If you’re Missouri or Kentucky and you can pick any coach in this league to run your program you’re picking Manieri or Corbin? I’d take Van Horn but mostly Sully over them all day.

Any program in the country would hire Corbin in a heartbeat, yes. Mainieri needs to retire, but you do realize he went to 8 straight NCAATs and the CWS at Notre Dame right? LSU didn’t just hire some random joe off the street. Did Notre Dame also have some inherent advantage in baseball?

Corbin has wasted more talent than all the other programs in this league combined.

I don’t think you have any historical context to be arguing about this. Corbin is the best coach in the league, period. O’Sullivan has wasted as much more more talent than anyone and Florida was a great program before he ever got there. Vandy was nothing before Corbin got there, and now your argument is about how much talent he’s gotten to Vandy like that’s a knock on him? Really?

Did you just wake up and start following college baseball 5 years ago? Serious question

Corbins roster stacking because of the shady private school scholarship dealings aside, he is not the best baseball coach in this league. Credit to him for being the first vandy coach to understand how to take advantage of it though. He wouldn’t win at auburn or Missouri. The guy has had the best roster in college baseball for about twelve straight years. If anything, he’s one of the most underachieving coaches in the league.
