Sorry for being able to run the ball?? And I wouldn't want to compare numbers with the guy who will be the SEC all time leaders in yards and td passes

Mett threw the ball a whopping 3 more times than Murray, he had 74 more yards passing

Me neither. He hasn't earned any kudos this year. If you based in on past seasons, I'd say so but he looks exposed this season.

Wait so Murray only looked better than Mettenberer because his offensive line looked better, but AJ is mediocre and not because he is plying behind the worst offensive line he has seen at Alabama. Y'all said last year met would be better if the OL was better so why not the same objectivity when McCarron is in the discussion? McCarron has done what he can with the time he is given. Yesterday he had an outstanding completion percentage and the one int was perfectly thrown if vogler doesn't catch it off his shoulder pads.

Great debate thread on the second best qb. I take Murray due to who he's beaten

I agree. "Big Game" Mettengerber is 0-fer his last few games against ranked opponents.

My unbiased opinion on the Murray vs. Mett debate is that Murray is the better of the two QB's right now but Matt could end up the better of the two in the big leagues.

Murray is a lit better of avoiding pressure, mobility is considerably better and has more experience.

Matt has the better Arm of the two and has the better WRs to throw to which really helps.

My list would be:

JFF
Murray
Mett / AJ (has played the best on the biggest games & has the hardware)

He has had a shite show of a OL, thus far. That was everyone's knock on him last year. "Let's see him perform with a shitty OL and not all world". He has already brought us back against a top 5 team (TAMU) in College Station. Say what you will but the dude has been money for us this year. When he has been able to open it up. (First half of games) He has been on a pretty damn good run.

That's great and all, but he's not on Murray or Mettenberger's level this year, not even remotely close even.

Murray - 79 for 116, 1338 yards, 11.5 YPA, 11 TD, 3 INT, 191.1 QB RAT
Mett - 81 for 128, 1398 yards, 10.9 YPA, 13 TD, 1 INT, 187.8 QB RAT
McCarron - 75 for 110, 882 yards, 8.0 YPA, 6 TD, 3 INT, 148.1 QB RAT

Well based on the way our o line was blocking and the way our receivers were running free, three more passing attempts would probably have been good for 75 yards and another touchdown

In 2013:

yards per game:
murray- 335
mett- 280

efficiency:
murray- 191
mett- 188

completion percentage:
murray- 68%
mett- 64%

touchdowns per game:
murray- 2.75
mett- 2.6

interceptions per game:
murry- 0.75
mett- 0.2

So...based on the stats, Murray is clearly the better QB. I know you LSU fans want to keep thinking it's mett, but he's not. The only statistical advantage he has over murray is less interceptions, although both throw less than 1 per game. Murray is more efficient, throws more yards, more touchdowns, thows a higher percentage, and involves more players in the passing game. Plus, mett has played against TCU, UAB, kent state, AU, and UGA. All unranked, except UGA. UGA has played against Clemson, SC, NT, and LSU, all ranked in the top 12 except unranked NT.

There really isn't any way at all to claim mett is better than murray.

Chavis did everything he could to make sure Murray's Jersey was not soiled by a touch of dirt.

Mettenberger vs. Murray? Hmm....I'll take the QB who won the head-to-head battle.

To Roger and thunderbird.....re: Mett vs. Murray.

I've enjoyed screwing with both of you on this thread, mostly because there was ample flaming of Murray and prognostications of LSU stompings last week. Want to know what I really think of your QB and this debate?

Mettenberger screwed up a long, LONG time ago when he was 18. Errrbody has screwed up at some point, I'm glad he's getting a second chance with you tricks, and he played his a** off yesterday. I'm glad he played lights out. And I'm glad LSU didn't lose because of him. He's a helluva QB with a ridiculous arm.

We all knew that because we saw it when he was in Athens.

But I'm still glad he lost.

You are correct, mett far exceeded my expectations yesterday. I thought he would fold, and he didn't. He played extremely well, hats off to him.

With that said, in addition to all the actual data and facts that have already been posted, both QBs had the ball with a few minutes in the game needing to drive their team down for a score. Murray needed a TD, and drove 75 yards in a few minutes to take the lead. Mett needed a FG, and they turned it over on downs.

Murray > Mett

So Qadry Anderson was better than Peyton Manning. Got it.

Meh, put Murray in an LSU jersey and Mett in a Georgia jersey, see how it goes.
