Not sure how Mizzou's offense will get worse, but sure, why not.

I agree. I'd probably put Auburn's offense ahead of Florida, Vandy and State as well. Good call.

Did he bring Bray, CP, JH, And DR with him?
Posted on 2/12/13 at 4:03 pm to Porter Osborne Jr
Everyone but Bray.

Then I'll agree you'll be better than OM

If LSU has the #2 defense in the SEC, we will win the National Championship.
LSU returns 5 of 11 starters on D, but loses all of our impact players. Still, I think the defense will be good, but I would rank it more like 5-6th.
LSU's offense will be much better that 11th. Just my opinion.

What makes you think UK will be better than Mizzou.

I can't wait for USC to come out with a top 5 offense in the SEC and for this argument to die.
Anyone that uses this as a reason for USC to perform poorly on offense is either an idiot or forgets we've played 10 games without him over the past 2 years and lost a grand total of 1
If you're going to question the offense, at least point out were questionable at receivers oline

He's got the remnants of a Petrino offense. If Chaney is half the play caller that Petrino was then we should be good next year. And it looks like Chaney is at least 3/4 of the play caller Petrino is. And having a VASTLY improved o-line, will not hurt one bit.

you lost lattimore who made up a large chunk of your offense. and forgive me if i think we will have a better defense than you. 2B's managed the #15 defense last year at wisky with lesser talent than he'll have here at arky. while south carolina only managed the #11 defense with the beast clowney
Games we've played without Lattimore taking the field for us:
2010 (W): Vandy 21-7
2011 (W): UT 14-3
2011 (L): AR 28-44
2011 (W): UF 17-12
2011 (W): Cit 41-20
2011 (W): CU 34-13
2011 (W): NE 30-13
2012 (W): AR 38-20
2012 (W): WOFF 24-7
2012 (W): CU 27-17
2012 (W): UM 33-28
We've not only gone 10-1 in those games (10 of them - almost a season's worth - in the past 2 seasons alone), but we've averaged 27.9-14.0 scores in those 10 wins, meaning we've essentially doubled up our opponents in scoring, all without Marcus taking the field for us!
Not having Marcus on the team anymore is undoubtedly a huge loss in terms of leadership and spirit. When he was healthy and on the field for us, no one else dominated and scored as consistently as he was able to. But now that he's gone, does that mean our offense is also gone? Obviously not....
All-time scoring offenses in USC's FB program's history:
1) 1995 (Taneyhill's Sr. yr.): 36.5 ppg
2) 1973 (Grantz' So. yr.): 31.545 ppg
3) 2012: 31.538 ppg
That's with our RB position being decimated by injury, our QB hobbled all season himself by injury, and 3 of our starting OL starting their first season ever.
IF our offense can remain healthier for 2013, we're returning enough veteran leaders, and have gain much more experience than in 2012, that we should expect a substantial improvement for 2013. I'm hoping for around 35 ppg and averaging 400+ ypg.
Our defense may drop slightly from it's top-4th ranking in the SEC last season, but if our LB position can solidify with the young newcomers there, we could be just as good as last season...definitely remain in the top 5. Also consider that other teams with top defenses last season lost a LOT of leadership...
IMO, USC may again be the top team in the SEC-East in terms of the best balance both offensively and defensively in returning players. UGA has big questions regarding their defense, and UF has the same with their offense. A couple of spots in units on our teams need some filling in, but we have the talent to do it, and if they step up our team could really take off....

What you fail to understand is that Bielema wasn't allowed to bring that Wisky defense along with him: Arky's run D was solid in '12, but the pass D was 113th (dead last in SEC), total D was 73rd (12th), and most importantly scoring D was 81st (12th). That kind of suck doesn't get fixed in one off-season, typically....

Which is why we brought in one of the country's top JUCO cornerbacks for immediate help in the secondary. We also had a VERY good cornerback that missed a lot of last year with a neck injury. He'll be back. We had 2 freshman in the secondary last year and one of them made the Freshman All American team, and the other is very fast and showed he had a lot of potential. Our linebackers will be very good with Randy Shannon coaching them. We brought in 2 very good JUCO LBs and we also had 2 true freshmen starting last year, both of whom made the SEC All Freshman team.
