That depends on who the new coach is. No matter what you’re always gonna lose some guys, but you’re gonna also bring in some guys too. If the fan base is excited about the hire, get ready to watch the money flow in for some top talent. It’s nice that they’re retaining Frank Wilson as well right now as the interim coach, I know he’ll work his tail off to try to keep the most important pieces we need to

Well if he'd won that game he wouldn't have been fired yesterday, so

...totally screwed up CFB by firing winning coaches running solid programs.

was Kelly running a solid program at LSU?

Let's say he isn't fired. How many of @ Alabama, @ Oklahoma, and Arkansas do you see LSU winning? He was staring 6-6 in the face, and LSU has gotten progressively worse each season he's been the coach. All he could hang his hat on was beating Alabama and winning the west his first year and Daniels winning a Heisman (still managed to lose 3 games that year). The players had checked out, and the fans had checked out. And, believe it or not, LSU still has to replace a lot in the offseason. So you're in a rebuild following a potential 6-6 season when no one in the program supports you anymore. I don't think that is someone running a solid program or someone you can afford to keep as HC regardless of what his buyout is. I think it would cost LSU more at this point to keep him.

Even the wins sucked with BK. He has a boring brand of football. Glad he’s gone!

LSU was smart to move on. We should have done this to Napier last season who deserved to be fired more than Kelly.

Oregon Ducks killed Penn State. But James will get hired again. And yes the salaries are unsustainable. Kelly was not liked by many even going into this season

That’s the difference between Florida and LSU. LSU forces coaches to get shite done or they take a hike.

TBF, Florida has always had a quick trigger

Zook was fired after 3 years

Muschamp won the East in year 2, was fired in year 4

McElwain won the East his first 2 years, was fired in year 3

Mullen finished 2nd in the East his first 2 years, won the East in year 3, and was fired in year 4

Napier was fired 2.5 years into the job

Florida doesn't sit around and wait either. They arguably the quickest trigger of any major program I can think of. Their problem isn't demanding success, it's making the wrong hire over and over again

He won the east and took you to two SEC championship twice which is better than the two guys you hired to replace him... .

With Muschamp recruits. The quality started to drop off. Luke Del Rio was our starter for a while...

Vandy is a legit top 10 team so this is pretty dumb.

It's not dumb at all, why is Vandy a legit top ten ten while LSU isn't?

How does Elko go to A&M and proceed to beat Kelly in his first two years?

The fact is that Kelly is getting out-coached by Elko, Kiffin, Lea, and in all likelihood, Deboer.

Replacing a coach should not mean having to tear everything down.

Players come and go. Offenses and defenses evolve. What is so sacrosanct about a coach? Get rid of one, plug in another just as with the other aspects that make up a team.

A program is responsible for a program's success.

Franklin firing was dumb, they were a game away from the national championship a year ago.

The Kelly situation is completely different. This is beyond wins and losses. Kelly situation had gotten toxic behind the scenes to the point of no return. You could see it on the sidelines of our games, everyone looked miserable no matter what was happening. Had to go.
