NCAA rules to 2022 grades who played 4 years, you have no more eligibility.

June 23,2026
NCAA changes rules. From now on 2023 graduation class and up have 5 years to play 5 seasons.

The problem
1. You left out kids who may have lost playing time because of an extra year of eligibility for college athletes that were playing during Covid

2. Already behind in some cases, didn’t give them a seat at the table. You could have included them or changed the rules prior to drafts.

3. You didn’t have to change the rules, the legislation hasn’t passed.

4. You could of waited until January 27 to make the changes

OK. So what if I turned 18 last February. I start playing football for Boohla- Boohla U. this fall. After my 3rd year after the 28-29 season I'm invited to try out in the NFL. I go through the Combine, get invited to practice, even suit up and play in a preseason game without a contract, only injury insurance I've paid for. NFL team says I'm pretty good, but they really don't want me this year, go back and build yourself up another year.

Am I allowed to go back to my former team or another for my forth year? (29-30 season)

Btw... since I turned 18 last February, I'm eligible to play in the NFL 3 years from my HS graduation date.

What makes any of this hold up in a state court when a class of 2021 kid comes back and sues for a 5th year? A 2020 kid? Etc...

Sure the NCAA has passed a rule. Which will continue to be challenged in court

They are infuriated that LSU is ahead of the game and building monster sports programs. It's extremely entertaining to witness the melts here 24/7.

What? LSU just fired their coaches in football and basketball. Neither has played a game since. How do you "build a monster" in the offseason with no proof of concept?

A good example of this would be the LSU baseball team. Looked great on paper- going to compete for a national title, and then the season started and they were one of the worst teams in the SEC and missed the tournament

I said yesterday that this reminds me so much of the Demond Washington situation as well as Wade going after the international players. LSU was ruining college athletics then everyone turned around and did the exact same thing. This situation is no different.

I had no idea it was this widespread. I haven’t heard of a lot of schools doing it. Is there a long list?

Or are you substituting “a few” with the word “everyone”?

There were about 8 other threads where your hot take would've been a welcomed addition for people who give a shite.
