Question for the Razorback fans

Walmart was suppose to be callled Hogmart and donate a percent to Razorback athletics for each sale actually, I believe Walmart was a offspring of fedmart and the Walton clan is more interested in parks and art stuff

Tyson built The Blessings golf course that serves as home to the Razorbacks men's and women's golf teams. The practice facility is world class. Permanent lockers for any Hogs who make it on the PGA or LPGA tours. The course itself is one of the most difficult in the country and has hosted the NCAAs.

Tyson is also largely responsible for bringing Calipari to Arkansas by providing the NIL and other resources necessary for him to succeed.

Tyson Foods pays to have their patch on our jerseys across all sports.

I've got no complaints with Tyson's level of support.

As for Wal-Mart, we see their name on the pillars in the Southeast and Southwest corners of Razorback Stadium. We also see the "sun" logo on the basketball court, so they're definitely kicking in something.

The family has given well over $300 Million to the School of Business and continues to provide exceptional resources to those students. I've got one child who is a grad of the Sam Walton School of Business and one who is going to be a senior this year. What the Waltons have given them access to has been invaluable.

But that really underscores where the Walton family's priorities are. They've not been particularly eager to shell out enormous amounts of cash for the athletics program at the UA. 30+ years ago, Sam's brother Bud gave enough cash to get his name on Bud Walton Arena, but really there haven't been many other extraordinary gifts from the Waltons to the athletics department.

It seems to me the Waltons are more interested in leveraging their wealth for quality-of-life projects in NWA like Crystal Bridges, the biking trails, and a number of hotels and restaurants that contribute to the area.

I'd love to see them step up to help the UA athletics department in a big way, but I believe that would require a significant shift in priorities and philosophy for the family.

Took my kid on a visit to Fayetteville a couple months ago and was blown away how nice the area was and the university and facilities as a whole

It blows my mind to see how much money is up there and how Arkansas cannot be competitive in football

Of course Wal-Mart being an Arkansas company, they also contribute to the University of Arkansas and NW Arkansas causes as well. So that might help explain why they have to spread their contributions so "thin". Of course with the combined wealth of the Walton relatives being over 500 Billion "thin" is a relative term.

Exactly. My daughter studied one summer in Rome with the Walton School's International Studies program. She achieved a Master of Accounting in 5 years and passed every part of the CPA exam on the first try. She's now 25, working with an accounting firm in NWA and has been promoted to Senior Accountant and been offered an ownership track.

My son (the rising Senior) just completed his summer internship at one of the largest accounting firms in KC, and in the Spring semester of 2027 he will be interning full time with Ernst and Young in their Rogers/Bentonville office. He too will have his Master of Accounting in their 5 year program. The relationships he's built and the opportunities he's been able to take advantage of have been impressive.
