It’s really not much of a contest. Add on the fact the PFF consistently has Texas DBs ranked higher.

I guess we will see.
To say it's not much of a contest is a pretty arrogant statement.

Watched an interesting video from PFF that Ohio State implemented a new offense going into the Tennessee game. For Oregon, they may have thought that offense was specific to TN but certainly messed with their planning. We should know going in this will be coming.
Path to victory: Have to be able to run. Our 2 losses we got stuffed and almost lost to AZ St. Our full line should be back healthy.
Hold em to field goals: Ohio State is scoring on explosive plays. Our D is good at limiting them. Hopefully we can come out on top here.

Statistically speaking it’s not. I’m not trying to be cocky about that, anybody would look that those stats and say the same thing.

As an OU fan who watches Texas football because they are our mortal enemies... I think I can address this question without bias.
I do not see any real weakness in Texas' personnel. They are as good as anybody out there (in general) at any position group.
Compared to Texas teams in the past... they are much more physical. Part of that is talent and part of that is mentality.
On offense, as expected with Sarkesian... they have a balanced and creative offense. On defense they are hard to fool or catch off guard.
If I had a criticism of them... it seems as though once they get control of a game... they sometimes lose their edge a little bit. We've seen it in both playoff games and several times during the season. Just a slight drop subtle drop in intensity.
Against Ohio State that could be lethal. But if they play focused for four quarters... don't think for a minute that they can't win this game.
To some degree... I think that these lulls they have had are due to the fact that outside of Georgia... they have been playing teams they know they can beat... And even the first Georgia game was bad timing because it came after OU... and although they rolled OU... historically, OU and Texas sometimes have problems the next week due to the huge emphasis on the game in Dallas.

Ohio State is favored for a reason, but this game is not unwinnable for Texas. Up until the last 2 games for the Buckeyes I think the teams were mirror images of each other - IMO most talented rosters in college FB but rarely strung together a full 4 quarters.
Our weaknesses are 1) OL (bizarre because we have talent and a great OL coach); 2) Muhammad (5-star that thas seriously regressed as a sophomore and IMO should be benched for this game); 3) strangely poor play calling by Sark in the 2nd/3rd quarters 4) coasting when we have a lead; 5) kicking - Auburn has been dogshit this year and if the game comes down to a FG OSU has a major advantage.
To have a chance, Texas needs to do the following:
1. Double Smith and take our chances on anyone else beating us. Egbuka is a very good WR and your RBs are solid, but Smith would be the # 1 pick in the dratt if eligible.
2. Per above, bench Muhammad. Fine to bring him in in dime packages, but he was heavily targeted by both Clemson (who does have good WRs) and ASU (much lower quality) the past two games and just seems lost right now. We have depth and I feel more confident with any of the backups at this point.
3. OL, particularly on the interior, needs to pull their head out of their arse. To be fair, we have 1 starter out and 2 others playing at 50-70% but inexcusable to play the way we did against ASU.
4 To help with the above, go back to the short passing game and get the ball to our playmakers in space. And don't abandon the running game too early.
Defensively this will be the best unit OSU has faced all year. For all the talk about the MI DT's, Texas handled them pretty easily (that score could have been much worse if we hadn't taken our foot off the gas) and our overall depth/talent there is better than the Wolverines or PSU. In addition to our DL depth, Hill and Barron are elite players and Taafe and Mukuba are very solid. PK (our DC) sometimes plays prevent to much to my liking, but both he and Sark are familiar with Kelly and Knowles from their Pac 10 days and Okie State, respectively. We also played Howard 3 times at KSU and while he has no doubt played very well of late I am skeptical that the can keep this up. A lot of Horn fans talk shite about Ewers, but he is the best QB left standing and I don't think it's particularly close (don't get me started on Allar who has got to be the most overrated player in college FB). The one concern about Quinn is that he will make mind-numbingly dumb decisions 1-2 times/game and he needs to avoid these for us to have a chance. Our TE Helm is a real X-factor but for some reason we ignored him for 3 quarters against ASU, but I expect him to be heavily involved this game.
I think this game is far closer than your prior two and if we play to our ability we have a shot - though clearly the Buckeyes are the favorites to win it all. This is the real title game - I expect whoever wins to beat ND/PSU with relative ease.

This is a nice way to say this. Texas does not know how to close the deal. Idk if that is Sark, but it does seem to be a characteristic of Texas under Sark.

Props for an actual reasonable, logical post - something all too rare here, I'm sure you hate the Horns as much as I dislike OU (despite my grandfather having played there), but in general there is mutual respect between our programs.

There are 3 thoughts that give me hope:
Thought #1: Maybe Oregon isn't really that good. They were undefeated, but Ohio St should have beat them the first time. I know they are a media darling for sure.
Thought #2: Ohio St knows how to lay an egg. I can think of 3 offhand, and I don't even follow B1G football. They have a Jeckyl and Hyde thing going, and they are due to flip.
Thought #3: Texas has never been the underdog this season. Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe this is what causes Texas to play the full 60 minutes instead of just the 1st quarter.
These notions give me hope.

Texas always plays down to competition, they also play up to competition.

Defense is our strength.
Offensive playmaking is our weakness. We have no dominant players on offense. I think the scheme is good. But we don't have WR, RB, or QB to overcome mistakes—or out-talent OSU.
Offensively, we will have to play a perfect game. I don't trust QE.

The most idiotic thing on this website is the generalization of fanbases. Most fans from any school are good people and will give you a beer/feed you if visiting their town. Overall Texas fans aren’t rabid enough to be assholes. And I have several close friends that are OSU grads and great people. But not sure we should accept a lecture from y’all given that when I I attended the Shoe in 2005 I saw several OSU fans (doubtful they were actually alumni but still) throw full bottles of beer directly at elderly UT fans including women.
Same reason Aggie crying about the Horns is absurd. I have a shitload of ATM friends and employee several of them. But after seeing corps dudes throw closed fist punches at UT coeds on Kyle Field after the last SWC game I’ll roll my eyes anytime they portray our fan base as shitty.

I keep hearing about Texas's stellar D, but didn't Arizona State run up 510 yards on that D ?
Yes. Kenny Dilligham is an amazing coach. A lot better than Ryan “Third Base” Day. Skat should’ve won the heisman, and the refs didn’t call a hold the entire game (pretty impressive).

Look at who Tenner played.
