Question for present day SEC school students.

What is the name given to your university issued identification card, and what does it allow you to do? For example, I believe UA still calls theirs an ACTcard. A person is able to use it to pay for on campus dining and at selective off-campus establishments. TIA.

Yeah, Bama's is Action Card or ACTcard. It just has our picture on it and our name. No DOB or any other kind of info. We can pay for our meals with it and it allows you to get into the dorm that you live in, if you live in one. Also we swipe it to get in at any kind of UA sporting event.
And in the library you have to swipe if you want to print anything.

Carolina Card, just use for On Campus stuff. (Laundry if you live in a dorm, on campus food, vending machine, stuff like that)
But if shown at certain places you can get a discount.
And now for the student section if you get a ticket, your tickets have your name on them so you have to show your carolina card with your ticket.

Ours are just called student ID cards as far as I know. You can put OM flex money to buy stuff on campus with it, and OM express money to buy stuff around town with it at certain locations. Student season tickets are also on our cards and you swipe it at the gate to get in.

Yeah, pretty much used like an on campus debit card.
The biggest frustration I've had with it is the SC book store off of the corner Main St. Called "The SC bookstore" huge Gamecock logo on the side, the 3 surrounding corners all University buildings.. yet you can't use a student ID there. All because Barnes&Noble (our official bookstore attached to our student union) won't allow it to happen.
Stupid as hell.

ya I remember so many times kids that have ran for sutdent body president and shite have talked about making the carolina card usable off campus. Ya this never had happened and never will really.

That's it as far as I know. Supposedly my freshman year they made it to where you couldn't buy beer or cigarettes with the ID but I did anyway so idk.
