We'll see how both teams go forward after such an emotional game. Neither team can't dwell on it for different reasons.
LSU was crushed in the BCS yet was preseason #1 this year. They've lost two games already and it will be interesting to see how Miles rights the ship the rest of the season (when there's nothing left to play for) and beyond. Bama/Saban did it after 2010 and is in the drivers seat to repeat as Champions.
Night, Tiger Stadium, revenge, comments like "where dreams come to die..." Not to flame but when your best just isn't good enough is a hard thing to digest, especially since it was labeled THE GAME (y'alls words, not mine). Miles could be done, IMO. You could argue no one has done less with more than Miles. Inherited a "damn fine team" in 2005. Sure he won the BCS (two losses) in 2007 with Saban's players and has the Tigers continually in the hunt. Before January, wasn't the 2011 LSU team arguably "the best college football had ever seen"? Eventually, someone has to ask the tough question. The reality is who would be better? Don't know.
But look across the sideline. Saban got to Bama the same year and basically started from scratch. Now going for his THIRD BCS during those same, short six years. That trophy is all that matters.
It is what it is and I make no apologies. I think the fan base at LSU is second to none, the atmosphere second to none. I also think if Saban were still at LSU, he'd be going for # five or six now, easily.
Great football game, by the way.

Do you have to cry to be emotional? Prefer gut-wrentching?

It's time to move on, we're 3/4 of the way through the next season. You'll be a happier person if you just accept it.
Then tell your Bama podnah that "it's time to move on" too since he brought up the 2 titles in 3 years about to be a 3rd. Afterall, THAT is what I was responding to...

Apparently if you are a qb in the SEC you do.

I mean assuming Bama makes it to Miami, the winner of this regular season game has played for a NC 3 of the 4 times since 2009.
They are 2-2 over this time frame in SEC play.
This is the best competition year in and out.

What are your feelings about LSU and its program.
I really won't think about LSU again until next November. Good Luck in your bowl game.

By the end of the season, Alabama will have won 3 national titles since LSU's last one. In terms of overall program strength, the two are not even close. Alabama/LSU is always a great game but the programs are not on the same level.
AGAIN...after a mulligan. If you're going to accept the championship then accept the consequences that went with it. And who did you play in that particular game? LSU. Had we won we would've had our 3rd title in 8 years. I'd say the programs are about even but Bama does get the advantage from media due to history, thus them even being in the game.

Move on from the current season?

NO! I was responding to "rise up"! The topic of this thread is comparing the 2 programs. All I'm saying is LSU/Bama are equal with the winner of this game playing for NCG usually (and last year the winner AND loser playing for it even though I didn't agree with it).

Exactly...that shows the equality of the programs, competing for championships year in & year out. Sure Bama has the advantage but to say otherwise isn't accurate. Unless we just start declining in the near future (which could happen)...

Lol! Lsu got into the ncg in 2007 much the same way Bama did last year (except worse bc LSU lost 2 games, one late in season to an unranked team at home!) yet I'm sure you don't contest whether LSU should have been in that game...
Funny how that works

No they didn't...LSU WON the SEC that year. Bama did not win the SEC last year and should never have played in the NCG (JMO). Huge difference. Plus LSU beat (badly) one of the teams trying to get in 2007 so there's no way that was going to happen. Plus...we were undefeated in regulation,

What are the 'consequences' that go with that title? That LSU fans will whine until all of our last breaths about '11? Ok dude, sounds good.

Not a dude. And the consequences are they got a mulligan (asterisk...thus my AV). I'll always claim part of that title even if no one else does b/c I personally agreed with Mark May that a team should win their conference to earn the right to play in the NCG. Bama didn't. To me it was just another game. Congrats to Bama for showing up and taking it though. However, the team they faced was an undefeated LSU. Let's not forget that. That says something about both the programs, IMO.
