My cousin is about to be a freshman there and he is wondering whether or not he will be staying in a good dorm or not (Bryant Hall I'm pretty sure). Can any Bama fans help me out with their experiences living on campus at Alabama?

Middle of the road dorm. Used to be the athletic dorm so lots of history there.

Are you using "history" as a euphemism?

Technically no school has an athletic dorm

New to the campus myself (graduate student) but Bryant at least seems like it would be convenient to the majority of campus. The new dorms look amazing from the outside but seem like they're a good distance from a lot of the academic buildings.

Is he either an athlete or an Engineer? That's the only way he can stay in Bryant.

They're small, but pretty nice. Have the best dining hall on campus.

Bryant Hall isn't as nice as the new dorms Presidential/Lakeside/Riverside but it's more centrally located to the academic buildings. Is he a pledge? Because the "new boys" have to walk everywhere on campus and he'll be glad he isn't hiking to classes from Presidential.

Yeah mechanical E. And appreciate the input. At olemiss there was one or two completely janky dorms and I gave him horror stories ha

Yeap. I never thought I'd feel nostalgic about Bama Dining but yet here I am.

The new presidential village built is really nice.

I'm disappointed we had to go this long without the obvious "Bama fans have been to campus" joke?

Lake Side Dining was the best when I was there. The new Fresh Food Company is supposed to be really good.

It's where most of the athletes live, so it's a pretty good dorm. Has the best dining hall, but he may have to pay a little extra to get the best stuff.

That kind of depends on what info you're looking for.

Everyone I knew who lived on the northern part of campus hated Lakeside, and preferred either Burke or Bryant. Now it's the new fresh foods, but it's so small and crowded, and pretty "meh" I hardly ever go there.

Not anymore, since the new Fresh Foods opened up literally across the street, and the fact that Burke has been remolded to basically look like Bryant. Bryant hall is basically reserved for Athletes only.

Bryant Hall is pretty top notch. Not new but recently overhauled for athletics.

I lived in Paty Hall and Rose Towers. Paty was a shite hole that's been on the chopping block for decades. It somehow continues to survive. Rose was torn down a couple of years ago.
