Also, Sorsby deserves a bit of credit for ultimately agreeing to forgo his final collegiate season, even if his hand was forced.
I think now would be a good time for any other QBs ruled ineligible by the NCAA for the 2026 season to act with some integrity... especially if they're only basis for eligibility lies with an injunction ruled by a state judge who is a former alum.

Chambliss isn't going to the NFL. It is what it is.

Yes glad they fought it.
But wow, there is a lot of damage done. TT showed their hand and you can’t put that back on a bottle. They forced B12 into a corner along with all their teams. I just don’t think they can repair the damage long term. No one will like or trust them. No one will value their opinion.
And I still wonder if the conf would try and oust them at some point. TT never gave up their position which collides with everyone else. They are all still on opposite sides of fence.

I'm sure the boosters aren't happy though. Didn't they pay Brendan Sorsby something like $5 million to come to Lubbock? That kid ended up never playing a down of football. Thanks for the free money though!

They get what they deserve if they don't get their money back.

Can they sue to get the cash back?

It's pretty dumb to pay it up front IMO. Ultimately, I think they could but it would look bad, even for them.
He was paid to provide a service, which he didn't provide. Was he forthcoming about his addiction? Probably not.
Tech basically paved the way for him to still play and provide the services he was paid for, but then he backed out it. His argument would be that the pending litigation was too much or that he "needed to step away for treatment" I'd imagine.
To me, to even get draft consideration or any favorable public perception, he needs to return the money to Tech and return any profits he made from gambling.

Sorsby and Cody just did as Kessler told them. Kessler knew they would not win in federal court Vs the law firm the Big 12 hired.

Rumor is they paid even more. Most likely to get Sorsby to sign a non disclosure agreement.
