.... uhhhhh.... or because it was Georgia’s idea...
LSU fan refuses to accept reality.

And if you really want to get technical about it, it wasn't either school's idea. It was just an option presented to them which they took and neither was the first ever stadium to have LED stadium lights.
The best part is the RGB lights are mostly about giving a better and more crisp picture on TV. The "light show" is just a side effect ability.

Seems like the most accurate representation. I’m thoroughly impressed with those new renovations though. As if y’all need more help

Yeah, LED lights have been taking the place of MH and other high powered lighting for many years now.
I have been using LED lights instead of Halides for my reef tanks. They are more expensive when you buy them, but they are much cheaper on electricity and the biggest thing is they don't put off all the heat the Halides do(which then requires even more energy usage to cool things down).
We also used LED's for our mary jane grow ops.
In both cases you can do "light shows" because you can adjust them to be any color you want. Over the reef tank they gradually change in color and intensity over the day, ramping up to be most powerful midday etc. But as far as color changing goes, the biggest thing is you can ramp up the blues and not the reds for better coloring and less algae growth. Many coral are deep, so they only get blue light for the most part.
For the grow ops, you mostly want blue and red which turns into a purple/pink color for optimal growth. No ramping on them.
With Halides you just get the color temperature you want and that's it. I would only run the Halides over a reef tank for a few hours due to expense, heat, etc. Had to use T5's to back them up for the rest of the day.
Amazing technology.

This is from February 21st fwiw. If Alabama can show me something from earlier, I’ll eat my words, but it’s embarrassing how butthurt some of their fans have been over this. It’s a great idea. If they had it first, I’m glad we took it. If we did, and they took it from us, good for them.

I think the whole "who did it first" thing is kind of dumb to be honest.
Since the topic won't die and has turned into a troll topic, I'll answer your question.
It's been in the works for over a year. The reason you don't hear anything about the lights specifically is because it isn't really considered a big deal when there is a $288 million renovation planned over the next 10 years.
You can find video of the renovations below.
Jaw-dropping video shows the Bryant-Denny Stadium of the future

Alabama Athletics announced $600 million initiative to upgrade facilities Thursday
Note: The $600 million isn't just for Bryant-Denny, it also includes Coleman updates and other facilities.
The link below also has Coleman footage. It features lighting on the ceiling etc.
The Crimson Standard renderings for Alabama athletic facilities
This is a whole lot of melt.

Actually many stadiums still have Halogens..it’s actually what UGA removed.

It's good to see UGA be a thought leader on this. They had a plan knew the colors they needed and executed
I predict followers will use color changing lights because they are not quite sure how they want to use

Georgia put LEDs in their reef tanks first.

It's at least mildly amusing watching LSU posters troll Bama posters based on our goofy LED lights... Carry on with the fine work gentlemen.

LED lights
Turnover belt
Care packages to former players
Jalen Hurts' development
What do these things have in common with one another?

I didnt think OP would get much traction with this thread, but the Bama faithful have come unhinged about those stupid lights.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure y'all will) but I believe that Ole Miss had LED lights in their stadium before Georgia

None of them started with Alabama? Only someone who went to Alabama would be stupid enough to believe that care packages and led lights were invented by Alabama.
