Historically Auburn can't touch Alabama
They are at least equals during what would the relevant football era. The Bama program has not been far superior if at all to Auburn during the recent recruits lifetime.
A lot can happen in five years. We would have to expect the SEC to look like this over the next 5 years. I don't know if Saban will be at Alabama and if they will get slammed with major sanctions at some point. Petrino and Chizik might not be there over the next 5 years. Petrino is a big time coach IMO that could end up at a bigger program.

When we make predictions, we make them on KNOWN factors, not some made up well what if Petrino leaves. If he leaves then we reevaluate, but as long as he's here, he's a factor.

I just think that their is a high possibility that Petrino, Chizik, and Saban will all be at different schools in 5 years.
I think Miles, Richt, and Meyer are the only coaches I think have a high probability being at the same program in 5 years. Maybe an outside chance of Bobby Johnson depending on how Vandy chooses to advance its football program. I think Johnson is a good coach, but they might move on eventually just for change.

Choctaw there is very little logic to any of what you just posted. Hopefully you are not of the mindset Nutt should have recruited burns for QB b/c he's already proved he sucks. Malzhan did try hard to recruit him to Arkansas 3 years ago, he inherits him now, Malzhan has stated Burns can run his system prior to spring, now Gus sounds as confused as can be about his QB situation which is odd considering Burns was in a spread last year. That should tell the world Gus system, Gus recruiting, Gus qb evaluating or something about Gus does not add up to SEC success yet. So, if Ziemba went to Auburn b/c Nutt "ran Malzhan off" maybe there was a logical explaination why Malzhan was going to take a new posisition and Nutt was bringing in an actual proven pro-style coordinator QB developer in DAvid Lee. Wilson was not being recruited to Arkansas b/c he had never worked under center and it is extremly hard to evaluate those QB's as you see now with Kodi Burns. Nutt had a kid from Kansas named Cale Pick slated to come before he was run off. Cale was a pro-style qb.
If you eliminate Nutt's 52.5% winning percentage against the SEC Arkansas is historically 39% against it. With his wins it's 44%. Auburn is over 60% against it. To say Arkansas has more long term potential is absolutely laughable. Auburn is in a state of approximatly 100 d1 athletes per year. Auburn borders GA, and FL, which traditionally produce 150 and 350 d1 players per year respectively. Arkansas has about 20 d1 athletes per year and borders states that do not produce no where near as much accessible (sp) SEC caliber talent to them as Auburns bordering states. About 1/3 of those 20 or less are marginal to impact SEC players. Arkansas puts approximatly 2 players in the NFL per year. Alabama puts in more, as does FL and GA that are within a few hours of the Auburn campus. Auburn doesn't play second fiddle to Bama when they win 6 series in a row before last year. But even if you use that argument, both teams with great coaches can be very good.
Lastly, you have to get out of this mindset that "it's all about the coach" it's really not. A great coach can do great things in a great situation but Arkansas is not a great situation. It's always going to play second, third fourth , 7th fiddle to the big programs in the SEC, which there are 6 with quite a bit more potential. And 2 more with slightly more potential. And 2 more that are about even but most years slightly behind Arkansas. If a coach at Arkansas is so good that he can finish 3rd or 2nd in the West , go to a decent bowl game, that's his ticket to a better job if he wants one and Petrino is certainly the type that will jump.

It's actually a pretty funny thread if you want to take some time and read through it...

CC thinks that Auburn is the best thing ever, (sorry Ross but I have to say I'm biased and under the impression that our program will be better than yours for the next five years). As to why Arkansas will never matter he posted recruiting rankings since 2002 then ignores the fact that the series over the last 10 years is even. So basically CC is claiming greatness over us because of recruits long past. WRT is stating that Malzhan recruited Burns at Ark so he must not be good and that Malzhan will be extremely unsuccessful but Auburn will still kick the arse end out of Ark. In the end it's an immovable poster vs an impossible question on steroids pissing motor oil out of it's chainsaw dick. Sorry for the lack of paragraphs but this phone isn't the easiest thing to operate.

I'm not sure about this. I expect Chizzy to put together a very solid team at Auburn. I have doubts about the defense at Arkansas.
I guess I think they'll seesaw back and forth over the next few years.

Not had an issue with a mod, but I've had a few battles with GuvHog and HawianIceman. Davenport's info is too nice to risk currently for some of the name's people to ditch. We all don't live at the university.
Rose out.
Rose out.

Fresh would send PM after PM seething about this or that on a daily basis. The more I laughed at him the more bitch he became. It was truly one of the more fun MB moments I have had.

The vast majority of us post under R-villeHog over there it's been way to slow and Nutt related for my taste personally. And the Dyer bashing from the radical few who feel are back field is full just irritate the he'll outta me. There's always room for a 5* home grown kid.
