Fair enough
Playing for a bye is a nice little prize

I also don’t understand why a team would want to play in the SEC Championship now and as an older guy I don’t really like NIL but I think we are already starting to see more parity.
Vandy, Indiana, Army, Navy just to mention a few.

I'd feel exactly the same way if this wasn't our first year and we've won it in the past, but it is and we haven't.

I will say this though, the loser of the CCG actually loses twice. Not only did you have an extra game to catch injuries/bumps and bruises, but you gotta turn right around and play a game the following week. Brutality.

This is a Gump take, but that Bama team from Saturday would send Quinn and the boys home sad.

They may still get a chance to do that

Bye and a playoff game at home. Those two things make it absolutely worth playing.

That said, I do think the SEC seriously needs to consider scrapping the CCG if getting one of their teams hoisting the final trophy is the ultimate goal. Something tells me the money from a CCG is more of a priority.

Maybe, maybe not...but I do know Milroe desperately wants a rematch from '23 and likely plays the game of his life.

Even though Bama is the only team that worries me a bit, (I think a rematch with Georgia goes differently for us) I'd still like it to happen.

Yes conference champ games are all about a cash grab but also can you imagine the significance for us in recruiting if we can show we are sec champs in year 1?

Not to say the rest of the season wouldn’t matter but at least it wouldn’t be a disappointment from there

Also the percentage for Texas is wayyyyy too high
I would put it at roughly 50/50 we win out and then assuming another roughly 50/50 match in the seccg, probably closer to 20% (though I’m no math nerd)

It’s real simple.

Assuming Texas, A&M, Tennessee and Bama don’t lose any unexpected games it’s this:

Winner of Texas - Texas A&M

If TN beats UGA, they go.
If UGA beats TN, Bama goes.

That’s it.

Only one team in that list has not played any other team in that list.

This is a group of 5 with one slipping thru the back door. The Cocks are not even on this list, and who did they boatrace?

That's because you have two losses.

I want two one-loss teams, because my team only has one loss.

So UGA’s only motive to beat Tenner is just to stay in the playoff hunt?

There’s a scenario if Bama loses to OU or AU and Ole Miss loses the egg bowl where UGA would go with a win.

It’s funny that the one team Texas has played with a pulse dragged their nuts across the faces of 100,000 fans and players for 60 minutes on their own home turf on prime time.

Mizzou can get to that record too!

God damn we’ve failed… if Texas wins the SEC in their first year we’ll never hear the end of it.

At least it won’t be our fault.

It's actually not that simple. LSU has a legit shot. It really comes down to the Arkansas vs Mizzou game. If Uga beats Tennesse and Ark beats Mizzou, then LSU goes. If Mizzou wins, Bama goes. That's assuming Bama and LSU win out.

Based on what?

Bama would have head to head wins over both LSU and UGA in that scenario.

What would Arkansas and Mizzou even have to do with it?

I love how this system of choosing who goes to the SECCG is crumbling in year 1 of it's existence
