I think Jimbo will win another at some point in his career. He might be the most stubborn man in the profession and will never ditch the pro style offense.

Jefferson was built to run the read option

He wasn't built to run any offense. That was just the one he sucked less at.

Did you miss the Championship game that year? They basically spent the weeks leading up to the game planning a read option offensive attack, and they got shut out because Bama shut it down.

I thought that was the story of the game? That the option installation before the game was the reason your offense stalled so badly, because when Bama stopped it, your coaches didn't know what to do.

Is that not accurate? My apologies if not.

I forgot something. They beat a great dual threat QB last year with a decent at best pro-style QB.

How everyone forgets. We've tried this mobile QB stuff for 2014 and 2016 ... 0-2 (NC's). With pro-style we're (4-7 - 2009, 2011, 2012, 2015 NC's in six seasons). I prefer the ground game and pro-style. Obviously.

There was no game plan. Did you watch the game?

You're wrong. If you have a great OL and a decent QB, you can easily win with a pro style offense.

I agree, but even if your offensive line isn't all that, if you have a good OC who knows how to use creative formations and some creative plays that take advantage of the defenses strengths, like counter plays, misdirection plays, shovel passes, and others that force the defense to slow down to play honest, coupled with some creative pass plays that spread out the defense, then you still can win, especially if you have a great defense like LSU had this past season.

For instance, this past season LSU held Alabama to just 10 points. Most of the time that's enough to win. LSU didn't win because they were still playing Les Miles' piss poor offense that Saban knows like the back of his hand and as a result got shutout. But it wouldn't have taken much more for LSU to win, just someone else's offense.

Your impression of Coach O is retarded to say the least.

The simple fact is Clemson won because Deshaun Watson is the best, most dynamic QB in college football in probably 20 years, yes better than Vince Young.

Then why is he grading out as only a 3rd or 4th round draft choice?

I think you're dead wrong

If bama stayed with the pro style offense with a qb who can actually throw and an offense who doesn't make their great defense play 99 plays they win that game by two tds

It was a stupid move by Saban. Gimmick offense crap. Bama doesn't need that. And they blew it

I don't believe that.

Actually, the problem wasn't the offense we ran or the quarterback we played in 2011. The problem was Les Miles.

Nebraska 1995.

How does that compare to the school you cheer for.

Just curious.

Thanks.

Why should he? No other offense has won more championships other than the pro style offense. If you are good at coaching it and remain innovative, then why change? A lot depends on the players and how creative the coach is, and Jimbo is one of the best in the game. No one can argue with his success.

But you didn't have a QB on the roster that could pass on us, which allowed us to sell out to stop the run. A better QB would have opened the game up for yall, even with Miles.
