We invested a lot of money on offense and very little on defense. Bet our defensive budget for 2026 is twice what it was in 2025. Look at what Pete did with some talent in 2024

Correct, with what we returned and added on defense, this should be a very good unit. The expectation with Chambliss should be the playoff.
What about LSU. Most expensive roster, most expensive qb, defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator and 2nd highest paid coach, I'm assuming no excuses for lsu not to make the playoff correct?

It took Lane 6 years to make a playoff at Ole Miss so we'll give him at least two.

Really? I've been told LSU has the best football program in the country. All that tradition, the most expensive roster, an offensive genius and the next Kirby smart at defensive coordinator and the expectation is less than that of ole miss who lost the only thing making them competitive? That seems off

I can't speak on the expectations of Ole Miss, I don't know what your schedule looks like.
Seems pretty adventurous to expect Golding to make the playoff in year 1 though...
