My involvement in the thread started by me responding to a poster saying how good Kiffin is by getting a kid out of the portal. Evaluating talent in the portal takes skill. Buying a known commodity doesn't take skill, it takes money. LSU simply paid more than Ole Miss would, nothing more to it.

Hes a quality SEC starter no doubt. Nowhere near as good as his brother.
At this point if I were an LSU fan, I'd be wondering if Lane is acting in the school's best interest, or if he's just trying to stick it to OM.
I wouldn't think this kid is worth 2mm (including buyout) but I could be wrong.
